I can't speak from personal experience, but I remember when my friend did this, his parents packed him a bag and offered to bring him to the bus stop, halfway there he changed his mind. His parents were pretty ticked, after all he was 43.

I guess that depends on what kind of boat he's taking. A cruise ship and he'll be here in two or three weeks. A row boat and he might take a little longer.

That kid was more mature than dear old dad,no wonder he left! It could've been worse he could've wanted to go to France, and be snooty, and stuck-up.
