Forgiveness my butt. He might well have helped pass that law. At any rate, as governor, he absolutely must be held accountable for his violation. The $100 (or whatever) ticket will seem pretty minor compared to his injuries, but he deserves the ticket -- he should get it. A fine example for all the other knuckleheads who refuse to buckle up (thus increasing MY insurance premiums) illustrating the old saw: Adding insult to injury.

Gov.Corzine could go to middle shools, and preach about the evils of not buckling up to vulnerable, & impressionable young teens. Whenever he gets better that is. That would be a good thing, & it would be a nice gesture on his part.

He should step down as governor. Poor leader, poor role model. It's the only way to get his honor back.

It is good that this story has been so wide spread in the media and people know he was injured for both speeding and not wearing a seatbelt (doh!) Hopefully this will get more people thinking about common sense things like not endangering their lives or others to get somewhere 2 minutes faster.

Why is everyone on this man when he will be in serious pain for months and could have died?

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA! He just gets out of the hospital, and the first thing he apologizes publicly for is not wearing a seatbelt? This is gold! GOLD!

I think if people do not wear seatbelts and drive 90 unless they are me is a fool. I do not buy this was an accident.

I believe people who choose not to wear helmets, seat belts and such should pay for the accident out of their own pockets. Insurance shouldn't pay for someone's willful misconduct. Jersey insurance is one of the highest in the nation. There is always a wreck on the Atlantic city expressway.

Throw the book at him. Fine him for every infraction and make him pay for the ambulance etc!!! I'm sick and tired of elected officials getting off easy. They are human, they screw up!! They should be treated the same as every one else!!!!!!

The police officer who was driving was under his orders but he should be fines too and given a desk job!!!

And now - for the REALLY funny part: I heard last night that after he was released from the hospital he went home in part of a multi-car motorcade - that was clocked doing 70 MPH IN A 55 MPH ZONE!

I think he sets a fine example for those not inclined to buckle up or observe the speed limit.

                          A negative example, that is.

Next time I'm in a car and trying to "forget" to fasten my seat belt, I'll think of his jillion broken bones, his hospital stay, and his (or his driver's) reckless speeding--and I'll buckle up.

The people of NJ voted for him because the city was under wepuck dictatorship for a while. High taxes, High insurance-tons of sprawl.

In New Jersey it is either $500,000 homes or $150,000 ghettos. It should be a large market for rentals as no one can afford to live decant and the ghetto is not worth the $150,000 to be taxed out of existence. Looks like a lot of abandonment issues in NJ.

Also they never rebuilt after the flooding,no economy except for the usual walmarts in certain areas. You may as well live in NY for the prices.

Thank-you government for building the casinos in Atlantic city and promising to lower taxes but instead you raised taxes excessively!

Cambden is still a scum bucket with an aquarium that has failed to improve the city. Probablly only officals and relatives get the peachy jobs.
