Interesting story about gold and salmons down the Fraser River in British Columbia. The Fraser River - the largest river in British Columbia, the longest river in the CHRS, the greatest salmon river in the world - is a river of superlatives. It begins in Mount Robson Provincial Park, in the shadow of the highest mountain in the Rockies.

Pity,there no more gold in the miners near Barkerville.
Fraser river is great place for river rafting - is anybody dare to try that ? :evil:

Wow! As recently as 1959 that gold was discovered there!

America and Canada have hundreds of years of history of favoring gold, copper, and uranium mining resulting in the deaths of tens of thousands of the Native peoples. You think they're going to care more about Salmon?

Yeah,I know that. Salmons almost gone in that river according to last news I heard - shi**y situation.

Beautiful place.........can we drill for oil there? How about a gravel mine operation? A chemical plant perhaps........no....a casino! But, just to benefit the poor Indians, of course.

The feeder rivers to the Fraser is where the real action is
nothing like landing a 12 to 15 pound steelhead!
