"Saudi Arabia's announcement has served as a sharp reminder to the market of the potential risks to oil supplies," said David Moore, an analyst at Commonwealth Bank of Australia. "Those risks are not likely to go away soon."

I know a few people that are having a really hard time because of these high gas prices and having to make serious choices over it.

Well. Gas is already going up despite oil going down.

Oil will go up once people discover that peak's been hit in a lot of places.

Better sell those non-diesel Hummers fast.

Most analysts agree that the lack of refineries is what drives oil prices higher. If they make more money per barrel by not building new refineries, why the hell would they ever build a refinery?

Interesting...crude goes down and gas goes up..and of course the oil companies posted their disgusting profit figures. Why don't they spend some of their record profits to upgrade these refineries.. OH, that's right, the top execs wouldn't be able to steal so much money that they call bonuses, etc. It is gouging any way you look at it and the damned government allows it.

If there is such a refinery shortage, why did they close the one here when it was making money? I worked part time out there. They suddenly decided to move their offices to Texas and left town, had the refinery completely torn down. That was a few years ago though.

I have heard that other refineries were closed too, but don't know how reliable that information was. Its nice to know that we are paying the oil rich countries top dollar for their oil so they can support our enemies.

The profits on gasoline are OBSCENE! And I am talking about the profits that the government gets, not the oil companies.

When I put a dollar of profit into the oil company's pockets, at least I get to drive my car somewhere. There is some value there.

When I put a dollar of profit into the government's pocket, I don't get jack squat. The roads are in terrible condition, the freeways are always jammed because there aren't enough of them. Etc., etc.

I am not sticking up for big oil. I am just saying that at least I am getting something for my money from them.

Gas is still $3.15 a gallon many places around here. Gas prices are NOT affected by supply and demand - they are affected by RUMOR and PROGNOSTICATION.

Have we as a nation lost sight of who we are. Last year when oil was $75.00 per barrel, we were paying $3.00 per gallon for gas. Today a barrel of oil is $66.00 per barrel and we are paying $3.00 per gallon. The oil company's continue turning in record profits for companies in any industry; meanwhile, school bus budgets, police and fire services budgets, etc. are being busted so a "cartel" can continue to rape our country. Why are we as a nation letting 5 companies ruin our country.

As a whole, we the people have lost our representation. It is time for us to stand up and take back this country from lifetime/political crooks and corporate robber barons. When was the last time your medical premiums went down. If anyone pays attention to the stock market you will quickly see that

the insurance companies and the gas companies are more profitable than any other time in history. But, a large percentage cannot afford heath insurance for their families.
