The three-chemical method of lethal injections "has been found to be humane when properly administered," Correction Commissioner George Little wrote in a letter to Bredesen. "We have significantly improved the documentation and procedures to support the three-chemical protocol."

I'm not sure I understand the problem (all over the country). Why can't they just increase the dosage of the med that they claim wares off too quickly (I have no clue the name, but it renders them unconscious)? Why is this such a big issue that can't get resolved?

I wasn't aware there was a humane way to kill someone! I'm sure the convicted prisoner didn't sit down before he killed someone and thought of a way to be humane! Why is so much time being wasted on this subject? If the person has been convicted and has been sentenced to die, kill him period! Should we have the death penalty? That's another issue now.

I think some of the more heinous criminals should die like the cajun did in "The Green Mile" where the sponge was left out of the death equation.

Whatever anyone personally might prefer, cruel and inhumane procedures are against the law. Just what that means under the law is an evolving matter. Over and over techniques which were believed acceptable have shown to be otherwise. The main problem is that the folks in charge characteristicsly don't do their homework and seem even to have no idea about how to go about it.

Little's statment "when properly administered" is key and absurd. One of the repeating problems is that these are often not administered properly. Neither is it true that these three part procedures will dependably work well even when properly administered.

People vary greatly in their responses to drugs.

It is strange that anyone should think that "it works OK when we happen to get it right" is a legally adequate justification.

The term which seems most appropriate regarding the execution folk is "willfully ignorant."
