Cardinals Lose a Game They Probably Shouldn't Have Played »

Posted by: Varadinum 2 years, 6 months ago

It's hard to pass judgment on the St. Louis Cardinals for their 7-1 loss to the Brewers tonight. Still, even through the worst events time and baseball march onwards. The Cardinals know that as well as anyone, and they took the field tonight wearing patches to honor Josh Hancock and playing with heavy hearts.

Unfortunately this one doesn't look like it is going to be quite like when Daryl Kyle died. Appears Hancock was reportedly drinking, heavily by some accounts, prior to the accident and strangely had been involved in another accident with an 18 wheeler at 5:30 in the morning the day he died. Another troubled althlete with too much money and time on his hands? Toxicology reports due soon. Then the question becomes do you continue to honor someone who died in such a manner? Do you still wear his number through the season?

      Good Morning V O R...

I fell alot of sorrow for his family and his teammates. Anytime someone dies, it is a sad time, especially in such a sudden, unexpected manner. Drunk driving or not, I think his teammates should still have worn his number on their person. It is a way to remember a great friend to those that he knew and loved. Drinking and driving never mix well, but by the same token it doesnt mean he wasn't a good guy. It was hard for me to watch my Brewers play the games as well. I kinda felt bad we beat them in the series. (not too bad though) ;)

      Have a great day!!

Its a shame when you do something you know you shouldn't be doing, and then have to pay with your life.

Drunk, probably high and talking on a cell phone...what a way to go. I guess the girl on the other end wondered what happened.
