IRAQ: Children's education gravely affected by conflict »

Last year, Ahlaam was one of 35 students in her class - now there are only 11 left. Some have fled the country with their parents, others are displaced, and at least half of them stay home for security reasons. According to a report last year by Save the Children, 818,000 school-aged children, 22% of Iraq's student population, were not in school.

    Gee, hard to believe a war would have an adverse affect on a child's education. I wonder how much this study cost.

      How's Iraq going to become a better country if there are no schools to help educate the kids so they can grow up and do better than their parents and possibly make changes in Iraq.

      War is not just adults problem. Very sad for the children and a countries future.
