A senior Australian government lawmaker has created a furor by telling a magazine that a female politician did not deserve a leadership role because she had decided against having children.

"I don't want to be sexist, but I've heard stories about many men up there in Parliament House who'd hardly know they had children because they spend so little time with them," Gray said.
"So is there a difference between having children and spending almost no time with them and deciding not to have children in the first place?"

Women are only good for bearing male children, right?
Another vicious attack on the "fair sex."
Stoners- excellent comment. I say the same thing about entertainers. If you don't have the time, don't have the kids.
Besides, looking around this country and this world, I'd say we've got plenty already. And some of them could use a little care, and love.

I read the article and couldn't find where the comment about male children was, unless "a bucket full of nappies" is an Aussie slang for male children.Regardlwss it was a very chauvanistic thing to say.
