A number of fans began throwing beer cans after Gordon won the race under caution, passing the late Dale Earnhardt -- a Talladega favorite -- in career wins.

I think this is great..these people were warned before the race started about throwing objects out onto the track..good for Talladega..I hope other tracks follow their lead.

After I saw the headline, I wondered how sucessful they'll be with the ban....lol, banning a big nascar fan would be like telling a one legged chicken to quit hopping, lol..."it ain't gonna happen!"

I am wondering if the fan could be charged with trespass if they were caught in the stands at another event

Serves them right. Being warned and still doing something deserves being punished - just plain stupid.

@Stoners, I would love to see the day they tried to ban beer at races - talk about (un)civil war breaking out...

Well Kriicket if they buy their tickets through an outside company and then pick up their tickets their ID will have to be shown. That is one way they could check ID's. Another way is when all adults come in and they are going to drink they would have to show their ID. Then they would get a wrist band telling all (bartenders)beer sellers that the wrist band they are looking at say's the person can drink legally. Now with them checking ID's like that it would be a way for them to catch the guest that is no longer welcomed.

It is really not hard to do this. With ID scanners out there that can be programed with a guests name that is not allowed at the event will show up on the screen. This happens all the time and more and more places will have these scanners. We are in a gadget age where we are all on a data base somewhere. This has been going on for decades. To catch the unwanted guest is easy. Not everyone likes it that their ID's are scanned but almost everyone does it. now, or a

Who the fuk cares about a bunch of cars going around in an oval. Though I guess it's a good way to avoid everything that's going on in the real world.

The dipsh*ts who throw anything on a race track are just showing their ignorance and with the technology that is available today, none should be allowed in another sporting event period. Harsh? Yep. But considering the injuries that could occur, it is an unacceptable occurrence.

If it were up to me, I'd have those dipsh!ts in the middle of the track and have the fans throw debris on them...see how they like it!

                        No...

I would force them to assist in track rescue and cleanup for one year. After that they will keep those in thier area of the stands under control!!!

I'm not so sure NASCAR should be banning fans. Do they have enough to ban?

Is it so hard to watch a NASCAR race without causing trouble?

There's enough crashes in NASCAR, we don't need any more safety hazards.

Good decision on the ban, hopefully they'll keep enforcing it and other tracks will follow this example.

I think it is boring to watch cars ride around in a circle all day.

How can people do this without getting bored.
