Posted by: bubba2 2 years, 7 months ago

Actor Don Cheadle traveled through the Darfur region in 2005. The trip changed him so much that it was difficult to come back to "my comfortable life & take stock in all the privileges... & do nothing". He teamed with John Prendergast to write "Not on Our Watch: The Mission to End Genocide in Darfur and Beyond", in books

"It is urgent that President Bush act ... to confront the Sudanese regime for the atrocities that it is committing and perpetuating to bring this genocide to an end once and for all," they write."

No, no, no. This is a bad idea. We are up to our eyeballs in meddling in other countries' affairs. Look at all of the criticism for our involvement in Iraq. Hopefully we can learn from that.

Maybe France and the rest of the European union can take this one.

We don't all have the money to travel to Darfur. You can read and become familiar with the lives of these people. You can't imagine in your wildest nightmares what happens on a daily basis to the people of Sudan. Dave Eggers helped a young sudanese man write his story. 'What Is The What'... Out of all the horrors the human spirit comes shining through.

Human rights? What human rights? Look at what is being done to the latinos in this country. It does not matter whether you are a naturalized citizen or 6th or 7th generation, all that matters is that you have a spanish surname or look latino and the discrimination is there. After 40 years in this country, I have started to feel the bad attitudes against latinos. Look at what just happened in LA, what do we call that? The minutemen is nothing else but a new disguised KKK, except that is being used against latinos. Check around and you will find that there are hundreds of people belonging to other ethnic groups coming into the country and they are not being targeted, WHY? I don't want to attend latino festivals or other latino affairs for fear of being attacked or even killed. Hello, this is the United States I am talking about!! Let's take care of our house first before we go into someone else's. How is our government handling this?

Every minority plays the race card when they don't get their way. Waaaah.

Could it be possible that one person does not like another person because that person is a jerk?
