This is a good news for this Sunday: A non-profit organization

offers a unique service to people in desperate need in a crisis! And it is all done on the web, in an interactive mode!

There is good in our country, and it is something that makes our hearts swell with compassion and appreciation.

Thank you, Professor Taylor! You have reinforced our faith in the goodness of people.

This will be something worthwhile to support!

Thank you for this story, Searchbeam. It is good to hear of something human and decent that is happening. Too often we hear only the negative stories of scandal, greed and deceit.

I don't remember who said it, but I do remember this quote, "Any good that I can do, let me do it now, for I shall not pass this way again."

      Thank you.

This is a pretty fantastic thing to do with your own personal money. Prof. Taylor is a true samaritan.

Great idea, and a worthwhile charity to donate to. Keith Taylor found out first-hand just how beneficial a well-timed kick in the wallet can be, and he made sure others can benefit from the same type of generosity that he enjoyed.

I wish this had been around when I was in college, then I would have had enough to graduate. I made a donation 0f $100.00. Who else would like to help these people out!?

I've been in situations like this and had such help myself, and I've worked for local community projects that offered such help, so anything like this wins my support every time.

                            AnneofCoulter,

Ours is a free country, so that you have a choice to be stupid, mean and vicious, just like your namesake without "of".

However, when you exhibit these character straits for others to see, you make a real fool of yourself.

There are a lot of hard-working, God-loving, honest people in this God's world, and sometimes they face real life-altering situations beyond their control. When they desperately need a little help just to get over that situation, that is where modestneeds.org comes in.

It is a sign of a civilized society to help others in need.

It is also a sign of hatred and viciousness to criticize such noble effort.

You, my friend, need to mend your ways and find something worthwhile to live for. It will make you a much better person that you are now, and you will bring joy and happiness to the people you come in contact with!

                            Peace and Blessings!

This is a great idea and I think we need more organizations like this one. The more charities we have like this the less government we need. Charities and Churches should be the second place people seek help. Their families should always be the first. Government should always be the last.

This is a great story and it reminded me of another American women who did the same idea, only the receipitants were Canadian school children of Newfoundland. On 9/11 when all air traffic was suspended wher did all the incoming air traffic go,Canada. This womans flight was diverted to Nfld.as many were,Nfld is considered a have not Prov.since the fishing died. There were over 200 people on this flight and they with others were settled in a small town ,no hotels as who goes there, anywat the people took them in,even the mayor, timetables set up for eating,sho... This is how Charity should work. A family that I once knew faced loosing their lively hood over their car needing to have tires. Their lights were going to be cut off. The money was comming but a week and a half away. When a person lives from pay check, to pay check. You do not often have the money to spring for anything but the bare necessities. I was shocked to hear that most charities will not aid a person unless they or their family have lost everything and in the street. Searchbeam, You found something that I have been wanting to hear for a long time. I had an Aunt in NC that left a lot of money to seven charities. One of those charities was the one that turned those people down. I some times wish I could make that charity give that money back. To me they dishonored their contract with her. Grants like Professor Kieth are the Real Deal. Many Thanks for letting me know.
