Unashamed
May 8, 2007, 10:20 a.m.I've been a nascar fan since the days the cars were actually "stock". I wonder how many of today's hot drivers could succeed in those cars.
It seems NASCAR wants change for the sake of change or that sometimes they over-react, as with the "Chase for the Cup" which came about because Matt Kenseth had the championship virtually assured well before the last race of the season. I agree with the safty issues as in the new walls and HANS devices. But monkeying with the points system, changing templates and trying to make sure every team is equal regardless of the level of talent on the team sets themselves up for critisism.

May 8, 2007, 6:18 p.m.I think it would be better to either go with the COT or not, but this having to run two very different cars has got to be costing a bundle plus eating up a lot of resources.
I know, 2008 they are slated to run COT full time, they should have just done it starting the 07 season and been done with it.
Personally, I would rather see race cars based on something you can buy and drive like Nascar used to be, not these concocted funny cars that are making a big to do using technology from 40 years ago as a showcase for their latest advancements.
Nascar, caveman racing at its best.
