Newborn neurons like to hang with the in-crowd »
Posted by: GregD 2 years, 7 months agoLike any new kid on the block that tries to fit in, newborn brain cells need to find their place within the existing network of neurons. May 8, 2007, 2:37 p.m.Who picked the photo to the right of this story? It certainly looks like something else than what the story is about. Maybe it is where 1/2 of humanity's 'brains' are, to phrase a coin. "Society" is said to revolve around these body parts, {"sex makes the world go 'round'} and the story suggests that these new neurons join a group the same way people do, jockeying for position to establish their cliques and "power groups." I hope this becomes established truth that our brains can grow and reconstitute themselves. Certainly some with serious head injuries have rehabbed themselves after much thereapy. Go for it! Perhaps Alice D. Head is recovering! One can exercise with all muscles, including the one used to lift a glass!
