The "you" that you are referring to is NOT me.

I didn't write the article - and I didn't write the parody, either.

Freedom of speech includes Don Imus.

I don't care what Rush does and whether or not he is fired or who listens to him. But he IS racist, hateful, bigoted, and demeaning. If he can do that, then Imus needs to get his job back.

Imus didn't 'write' or 'invent' the language he used to describe the basketball players, either.

Imus uttered the words, and he was fired.

Who "wrote" or "produced" the Obama parody is NOT the point.

By AIRING the parody, Rush condones it and he thus condones the racism and hate-mongering in it. Period.

Anyone who contends that what Dom Imus was fired for was 'valid' because his comments were 'racist', while contending that Rush should not be fired - or otherwise held accountable - because his comments and his content are not 'racist' is a hypocrite. Period.

The fact that he plays the song speaks volumes about what kind of audience/listener he is playing to.

Even more disgusting was a tirade where he claimed that the "Va Tech murderer must have been a liberal".

If you go down the list of what the guy says that is either disgusting or a flat out lie, it also speaks volumes about the intellegence and spirit of our country that he remains so popular.

By the way, Don Imus is suing CBS over his firing. The story was posted on Netscape last week. The CNN link says that his contract includes language that encouraged the radio host to be irreverent and engage in character attacks is interpreted, according to one person who has read the contract.

The language, according to the source, was part of a five-year contract that went into effect in 2006. It stipulates that Imus be given a warning before being fired for doing what he made a career out of - making off-color jokes. The source described it as a "dog has one- bite clause."

African Americans have voted for Anglos quite frequently, even against their own, in great numbers, more than 50 percent. It's a shame, but there is a high number of Anglos who would never vote for an African American, no matter how fair or qualified the individual may be. Chances are they would rather be tortured and burn in hell for all eternity. How sad the condition of America.

It seems that, IF you are really good at impersonation, like Shanklin is, you STILL can't impersonate blacks. It seems that IF you want to be branded a racist, all you have to do is point out a difference between white and black (possibly why when two boxers are fighting of white and black, the trunk colors are mentioned and not the skin color). Singing in a voice that many would take as an African American voice, when you're white, is like ignoring the boxing trunk color and saying the fighter is either white or black. In otherwords, you CAN'T call it like it is, or, be labeled racist...esPECIAlly if you're white. Wright can say black kids are "right brained", but, can you imagine a WHITE person saying the same thing? Maybe if he's suicidal.
