Duly Consider: Why We Are Gay, Straight -- Whatever!!! Problem or Just a Fact? »
Posted by: trnscndr 2 years, 7 months agoLooking For Solution For Something That's Not A Problem. Humorous and serious breakdown of the fixation the world has on the cause and effect of sexuality. 1. Sin. It's not God's will. Wow, that was easy. Eve was made for Adam as a child factory and/or his masturbation machine. Anyone who would choose this alternative way of life, is jus

May 8, 2007, 5:18 p.m.It's amazing how many people, by simply focusing on its cause, would imply it's something to be cured, a disease. What idiots!

May 8, 2007, 6:07 p.m."Ah, the titillation!" Darn near to pornographic writing there Trnscnder[typed that with smiles] Watermelons? really? Huh, never heard of that one, the education you can get from the net.
Now as far as I'm concerned with your question, "Sin. It's not God's will." Religion you can take out of the equation, there are too many religions, and the bible if not incomplete, has certainly been rewritten too many times to use that as a guide. "Against Nature", I think that should not be included either, since in the animal world I do believe same gender sex is prevalent.
So, we are left with your other issues about this matter, Genetic and the environment, well maybe in some case then again maybe not in some cases.
I really don't think there should be any issues, gay or straight, purple or pink, we are all homosapiens, humans, PEOPLE.
Oh, and "badonkadonk" is that really a word? sounds like something I would make up :)

May 8, 2007, 6:10 p.m.The psychologists I've chatted with all say that homosexuality
is multicausational; ie, several factors contribuiting to thier orientation. My OPINION is simple: they don't want special breaks,or a special quasilegal category, that might not be entirely legal. They want the rights due to them as American Citizens. They just want to live thier lives in peace. Now the
pseudoreligious extremists; who seem to demand the Mercy and forgiveness of Jesus for thierselves and thier families will attempt to consign those they DON'T like to Old Testament harsh judgement. This despite the Biblical warnings against just that!!! For one= "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Another goes something like "Judge not lest ye be judged ;for it is by the standard of your judgement that you shall yourself be judged."

May 8, 2007, 6:18 p.m.Some people are straight, some people are gay and some people swing both ways. That is just the way it is. I don't spend alot of time worrying about it. I don't meet someone for the first time and start wondering who they sleep with. It's silly.

May 8, 2007, 6:21 p.m.Apart from the inquisitive nature of humans, who cares why we are gay? I mean, I am happier being gay than I am thinking about why I am. Put another way, that is akin to me thinking wow, I am white! I lack rhythm, I am a lousy athlete, and I cannot jump. According to Hollywood movies those are the credentials one needs to be African-American. I am not too concerned with why I am white. Nor does it matter to me if someone is black, bisexual, Hispanic, or Jewish. As long as said people will sit down with me and have a drink, I don't care about any of those things.

May 8, 2007, 6:28 p.m.Here's another off way of looking at things- from a more ethereal point of view:
They say that in heaven all souls are asexual. When we choose to be born in this world, our dominant side is inherently most present, no matter what 'body' we're in, whether male or female. This is an alternative explanation as to why transgenders feel "i'm a girl in a boy's body"....
As for my take on gay, str8, or bi....Bi's have it best since they get to sample the entire buffet, lol..

May 8, 2007, 6:47 p.m.When a buffet is in question, I rarely go to the salad bar. Instead, I prefer getting the meat. Maybe that is my manly side coming out, but I can get rabbit food elsewhere. Having said that, an iced tea hits the spot with chicken or steak.
What that diatribe has to do with the article, I do not know. Tangentially, I think that most people tend to side with what they like and enjoy. Some people want salad, some want fish, while others prefer meat. Now if you will excuse me, I am going to go finish my meat...so to speak.

May 8, 2007, 7:31 p.m.Several of our friends our gay - including the couple next door.
They brought up an interesting point. If it is determined that homosexuality is genetic, it will be interesting to see how both sides in the abortion debate react.
Will the pro-life proponents support genetic testing for homosexuality and become pro-abortion?
Will the pro-choice people suddenly be against genetic testing while a woman is pregnant and be against her right to have an abortion?
The couple next door follow the genetic research on this topic closely and believe the evidence is mounting for a genetic explanation

May 8, 2007, 7:49 p.m.My personal belief is that "government" get out of the marraige business. The government should licence parterships only. If a person wants to get married have it done in the church of your choice afterwards.

May 8, 2007, 7:54 p.m.I haven't discussed the gay issue with many people, but here I am reading some of the most ridiculous excuses for it I have ever seen. For example, someone wrote here "It's amazing how many people, by simply focusing on its cause, would imply it's something to be cured, a disease. What idiots!"
Interesting observation!! The man who thinks he is a chicken naturally feels he is not abnormal, but do we as a society bend over backwards to provide him with nests for his comfort? Do we allow him to mate with 'other' chickens? No, for goodness' sake we try to help him overcome the compulsion, for he is ill. How long till somoene decides a child born with a devastating birth defect has the "right" to live that way and withdraw treatment for it? Ridiculous? Of course it is. Humans and the overwhelming majority of animals are born with one of two obvious genders, and built to mate with the opposite one. Anything else is as defective as trying to be a chicken.

May 8, 2007, 8:09 p.m.Wheelcat,I could think of a way you bend over, backwards or forward, it wouldn't matter. Your analogy is really insulting to anyone, gay or straight. To compare being gay to thinking you are a chicken is a bout the STUPIDEST thing I have heard and I teach freshmen.
You should write a paper about this. Guaranteed F for its logical fallacies alone not mention arrogance and outright scientific idiocy.

May 8, 2007, 8:21 p.m.Regardless of choice or chance, regardless of whether you like it or don't, despite the numerous religious arguments against it, homosexuality is something that some people do. In the main, it is harmless, in that it is merely a form of sexual expression, in its function, it is different than heterosexual sex, but it is not different in its expression as a physical act.
The state should grant each individual citizen the right to do as they see fit, unless the individual infringes on the right of another.

May 9, 2007, 12:15 a.m.Libfighter, I would bet $100 in a second that you are a closet homosexual, or a 3 beer recruit. My experience is the reason homophobes flock to the church is their guilt about their own sexality, but feel free to prove me wrong. Until then, "M'lady, I think thou dost protest too much."
