    So basically we aren't planning to leave ever. Bush said this was going to be a 100 year war on terror and it looks like he intends to follow through. The US is never going to be able to leave Iraq until the insurgency is crushed, but instead it continues to get stronger. Saddam Hussein may have been a tyrant, but he was the linchpin that held the country together. The president has bitten off more than he can chew by removing Saddam and having him executed.
