Al Sharpton Denies Saying Mormons Don't Believe in God »
Posted by: Jayson 2 years, 7 months agoThe Rev. Al Sharpton, who recently urged that radio host Don Imus be fired for making a racially insensitive remark, said in a debate that "those of us who believe in God" will defeat Republican Mitt Romney for the White House. But Sharpton denied he was questioning the Mormon's own belief in God.

May 9, 2007, 11:28 a.m.Well if Al said it then it must be true. He is, afterall, a Minister of God. He is the head Reverend at the Race-Baiting Congressional Church.

May 9, 2007, 12:16 p.m.Hey, someone sees that they can sell rope to Sharpton because he is always willing to hang himself. He seems incapable of thinking before he opens his mouth.

May 9, 2007, 1:36 p.m.Alright, provide some indication that any of our media is left-leaning. I certainly don't see it.
If it was, then the "journalists" would have pilloried Bush when he was lying about the threat that Saddam posed to the U.S. in the run-up to his invasion. They didn't, they actually never questioned or looked into anything the adminsitration or Republicans say. for the most part they merely parroted their rhetoric without question. Therefore there is no leftist media except for a small minority of socialist newspapers.

May 9, 2007, 4:57 p.m.Saying the media is leftist is completely ignorant. The media does what it does for one reason, to sell advertising, to make the rich owners richer. Get this through your pea sized right wing brainwashed brain cell.

May 9, 2007, 2:04 p.m.As much as I can't stand this loud-mouthed bigoted hypocrite, it seems a bit of truth emerged from his blabbering lips... the Mormons do not believe in God as Christians do per se, rather they believe they BECOME gods... a huge difference. So, finally, Reverend Al says something inbuitably substantial and redoubtable without meaning to... gotta love it. The Mormons are one of, if not the biggest, wealthiest cults on the planet... and having a Mormon president would be VERY, very dangerous, no matter how handsome and well-rounded Mitt is.
Personally, I'm voting for Rudy, as if that matters to anyone... he's the most middle of the road candidate out there and has lots of leadership experience and is well-versed in foreign policy in an age of global terror.

May 9, 2007, 8 p.m.Hey, wouldn't it be fun to elect Jesse Jackson and Sharpton to the White House? Wouldn't THAT be some comic relief after this administration! They'd also make the clowns in there now LOOK GOOD! lol

May 9, 2007, 9:36 a.m.Lobotomize me and I might give this guy an ounce of credibility.
The fact that so many Americans turn to him for direction is an incredibly sad commentary on our socio-political state of affairs.

May 9, 2007, 9:58 a.m.Well, I want to know what seminary the Reverend Al Sharpton went to. Is he an ordained minister? What theological training has he had?
But aside from that, Mormons are not Christians -- they are their own religion. Mormon's don't believe in the deity of Christ, they deny he was the son of God, begotten and not made and of one substance with the Father, and part of the Trinity. To put it in practical terms, Mormons wouldn't be able to say the Apolstles Creed and mean it -- which is the core confession of the Christian Church. In that sense, Mormons share a bit of theology (but that is all) with Mohammedens who also deny the deity of Christ and the existence of the Holy Spirit.
But that is only esoteric theological debate stuff between those who care about it. I happen to agree with endofdays and knothead15 who both expressed my feelings very well.

May 9, 2007, 9:58 a.m.Be "FAIR" and maybe you wouldnt need people like Sharpton ???But given your track record with people of color ,thank god he and Rev Jackson and other continue to fight for "EQUALITY" in America. You Americans are still in "DENIAL" Dont forget you stole the country from the indians and then inslaved them "FACT" "only in America"

May 9, 2007, 10:03 a.m.So he wanted Imus fired for his comments, yet likely nothing will happen to "the reverend" for this far more ignorant comment...

May 9, 2007, 10:03 a.m.Doesnt anyone else see the comments of Al to be a great thing. He just split his problem with prejudices wide open. You have to be Christian to be elected...Not only religious, Christian! And hes is fighting for human rights??There are plenty of Blacks, sry for the un-pc bs, that arent Christians that stand behind them. Now he is saying they cant hold that position they dont have his faith! Wow, such a P.R. person. At least, we are finally able to see into his real mind as a bigot, not just a great person for Blacks civil rights. He has done great things for blacks, and at the same time, for himself within that cause. I like him for standing up for the equalities, but not for standing up for his equalities and saying that everyones elses equalities dont matter before his!

May 9, 2007, 10:29 a.m.mossback thanks for the grammatical correction, Im not american so I do the best I can at writing your language , I was referring to the native american which I believe you knew to which I was referring, but that not my main point. I just find it amazing that Rev sharpton is so fear by many americans because he brings to the forfront the issues that "DEVIDE" America "RACE" plain and simple We in Europe have our problems with racism, but not nearly on the same scale as you do in america and more interesting These are your own citizens???????? Is it that the superiority theory still exists???????????? One thing is for sure TOGETHER you Thrive DEVIDED you will fail "ONLY IN AMERICA"

May 9, 2007, 10:38 a.m.Al, you really need to get a life and quit messing in other people lives before they start putting you under the microscope and no telling what nasty little thing they might find. "don't critcize your neighbor until you've walked a mile in their macasins".

May 9, 2007, 10:59 a.m.Sharpton is a 'bias hypocrite'. He is an opportunist to validate his existence to benefit his financial empire. Where is Sharpton's promise to go after "hip-hop" singers who continue to degrade & insult black women. Sharpton & Jesse Jackson are milking minorities for social status and money. Both, Sharpton & Jackson have skeletons in their closets. It's time for Sharpton & Jackson to retire or get REAL JOBS!!!
