May 9, 2007, 7:06 p.m.His first speech to us was a 'you work for the White House' speech," McKay recalled. " 'I work for the White House, you work for the White House.' "
McKay said he thought at the time, "He couldn't have meant that speech," given the traditional independence of U.S. Attorneys. "It turns out he did."
gonzoles doesnt understand he suppose to work for the american peoples....the firing of carol lam because she prosecuted neocons and criminal defense contractors made me sick....and that they kept the bozo in the next district that was prosecuting a dying woman because she used mj to releive her pain shows this admin has no shame,no compassion, just evil greed

May 9, 2007, 11:44 p.m.You are the traitor and don't even realize it. By blindly supporting these crooks and incompetents your are supporting and condoning the downfall of our constitutional freedoms, the breaking of our marvelous military, the bankrupting of the US Treasury and the loss of American prestige and respect world wide.
There are so many other un-American things that you are supporting that there is not enough room here to list them all. People of your temperment have found a political outlet for your personal frustration and hate, fed by the Rush's Hannitys, and Coulters.
You are blindly partisan and can't think beyond "fighting libs." Libs are American as you idjit. You should be fighting for a decent world for your children and grandchildren.

May 10, 2007, 8:58 a.m."The dems are doing in their power is disgrace our President."
Nature and divine order have already done all that is necessary to disgrace your president.
Nothing the democrats could contrive would be worse than the existential insult of simply being Dubbya.

May 10, 2007, 8:07 a.m.Crimes of arrogance like this cannot go unpunished otherwise we havee no system of law. The most aggregious aspect of this is that the people who did this are supposed to protect our law system and our freedoms........they didn't and they must be punished, plain and simple.

May 10, 2007, 8:16 a.m.Unfair balance of power. If Bush could he would fire all democrats and fill the government up with wepucks who would operate under all of his rules and opinions.
"If you are not with us you are against us." Who would say or think such a thing? Sadam and Ahkidah?

May 10, 2007, 10:11 a.m.Graves was axed (he actually "resigned" at the request of the Justice Dept.) in part to the voter fraud scandal, but also because he was involved in giving handouts to his family and friends like a Halliburton party.
Senator Kit Bond-R (one of the shrinking group of honest Republicans) ID'd improprieties in the Graves office and suggested an investigation (fearing the fallout).
Hilarity ensued. To read more about Republican corruption at the local level & Graves' arrogance, link below.

May 10, 2007, 12:33 p.m.We need a full investigation into the firings. Gonzalez should be removed for poor performance and failing to uphold our laws.
Write your representatives and ask for a full unfettered investigation. What usually bring down rogues is the coverup. An investigation would likely reveal a coverup and in turn force the resignation or dismissal of those involved.

May 10, 2007, 12:35 p.m.Political pressure on the judiciary, corruption and selectivity in enforcement of the law, continuing media restrictions and self-censorship, and government pressure on opposition political parties is eroding our government.
Write your representatives and request the removal of Gonzalez and a full inestigation into the firings.

May 10, 2007, 12:56 p.m.An honest question to all of our diehard conservative contributors:
If Bush and the Republicans in Congress are doing such a good job and are heading this country in the right direction, why did Democrats win both the House and Senate and Bush's approval rate currently dangles around 28%? Have liberals hijacked our country or is it that the average Joe Schmoe isn't really that crazy about Bush or his constituents?
P.S. PLEASE try not to throw the word "lib" into your answers.

May 10, 2007, 2:12 p.m.They are so certain that it "could" result? Is that attorneyspeak for May? Might? or Coulda, shoulda, woulda if? Have you ever heard an attorney convict on the chance that it could result in a conviction? You can hear the wheels spinning in the attorney's head: I'm still going to get paid, right? I did say could. I tried. There was not much there to work with..
