May 9, 2007, 5:33 p.m.I feel sorry for his soul, for he has gained the world and lost his soul. I don't hate him but I do hate the destruction of the Constition, our economy and the hundreds of thousands of innocent deaths he has caused. His place in history is assured as well as hell.

May 10, 2007, 9:11 a.m.Hmm...we have been in Iraq 6 years? I didn't know that Kelluv. I guess that means we invaded Iraq on May 10, 2001? Wow, we invaded Iraq before Sept.11. That is pretty neat.
I'm not one to accuse a liberal of making up facts or not knowing history...but if the shoe fits.

May 9, 2007, 6:15 p.m.Here's a big question; would anyone here like to drink a beer with him anymore? I mean he's funny and if you really get ******ed, you could just share your beer with him, right in the face!

May 9, 2007, 6:28 p.m.Great article!I suspect that the real Republicans have had a lot to contend with. They supported both Bush Campaigns, only to find that they were taken for a ride as well as the rest of the country.Yes we can say we didn't vote for him, but to those that did,and now distanced themselves, feel betrayed. So it appears that they too must contend with reality. They also must reconcile w/ the fact that they supported the man that eventually took down a Country, used division as a platform, invaded a country that wassn't a threat, etc. They had strong reasons to vote him in.They must have felt that their interests were going to be served up straight and to hell with everyone else. So I see them in an unfortunate catch 22.Nonetheless,I do feel empathy towards those that finally realise that they have also been screwed,But,they had their own interests at heart when they voted him in, not 1 but 2 times.Had there been little opposition to Bush Regime, they would not be jumping ship at this time.

May 9, 2007, 6:48 p.m.My gut says they are only saving their own arses at this point.Though, had no body shouted ENOUGH IS ENOUGH, the corruption would be in their favor and would continue, and they would not want to shut themselves out of the playing field. Afterall, their gains were far too important as the rest of us were stripped of civil rights, the war would rage on,and the rich would have gotten richer. I don't think they would oppose the fruits of their selfish behaviors. They do so now only because they are being forced as the world looks on and takes note. But if everyone were silent? They would be dancing in the streets with their glory banner parades as they shut out the rest of the people in this country in a heart beat...an attempt to validate how the rest of us were the problem. They had everything to gain. Now they must do a complete turn around.I may feel empathy for some, but I certainly don't have any sympathy.Too them,we were the problem and they had the solution, but itfailed.checkmate:-)

May 9, 2007, 8:21 p.m.Rights could have earned a little respect with this fiasco if only they had stood up and said 'lets get this guy out of here, it's not right!' (no pun intended)
Only problem with that is most already had their own hands dirty, so they must have felt only thing to do is stand firm, evade questions, deny involvement or stay and look loyal and hope they don't get the axe.
pathetic!
And for those who voted for him, I hope next time you look more at your options, you know your party is not tattooed on you! Be American first!

May 10, 2007, 12:03 p.m.I don't, because, as one of my poems points out:
You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.
You can give someone choices but you can't make them think.
You can open prison doors but the captive won't be free
If inside the prison walls is where he wants to be.

May 9, 2007, 6:37 p.m.I would never share a beer with bush.
If you did you'd have to share it with all his buddies. halliburton would come in and take a big gulp, then the carlyle group would want some, etc etc.
by the end of it, there wouldn't be any beer left for you.
then sean hannity would come in and blame you cause there's no beer left and coulter would write a book about it then show up drunk on hannity's show to talk about it.
what a nightmare. when all you wanted was a cold beer.
share a beer with bush?
hell no.

May 9, 2007, 8:43 p.m.I do not hate GW Jr., he was the governor of the state I live in and the last 6 years I have watch this man nearly destroy America, due to the fact that poor George never listens to no one & he will never change. He is too old to change. It is sad to say, that Jr. does not even see himself as the rest of the world truely sees him.
The history book will reflect the fact that Jr. suffered from grand delusions or delusions of grandure.
I pray that God will save us all, our America, land of the free & home of the brave!

May 9, 2007, 11:41 p.m.I wish for the good old days when I could just argue about policy with my Republican friends. If I bring up politics now, they just get all defensive and start with the talking points ("fight them there not here, Saddam had WMDs, etc,
etc..."). They seemed to be drained of any reasonable debate.
As for our Prez.. I watch speak him as little as possible.
It's too painful.

May 9, 2007, 11:49 p.m.I think he is getting ready to invade England after that Freudian slip he made the other day when he said to the queen - 1776 instead of 1976 - or maybe it was just hard for to say a year when a Democrat won

May 10, 2007, 8:21 a.m.All are coming around to Bush's no win policies.
Long wars are unpopular, the high price of gas is unpopular, outsourcing of jobs is unpopular, 1 out of 4 no healthcare?
Bush should not even have time to worry about abortion.
He ruined the country for the next 60 years or so-unless global warming ruins us first.

May 10, 2007, 8:24 a.m.There is a positive side to the reign of Der Bush - he is really just proceeding forward with the agenda that his predecessors also supported - Bush did not initiate hostilities against Iraq, for example, he just moved forward with a campaign against that country which was started by Daddybush and continued by the Killer Klinton. Dubbya did not invent economic neoliberalism, Klinton did more to advance that cause than Dubbya. Dubbya did not begin using the cry of "terrorism" to erode the Bill of Rights - Klinton also passed "anti-terrorist" legislation which was unconstitutional.
No, Dubbya stands out because he sucks at what he does and because he is brazen. He has revealed the ugly agenda of this country's ruling class. He has radicalized more liberals and middle-of-the-roaders than the lefties ever could hope for.
And that's a good thing.

May 10, 2007, 11:57 a.m.As hated as Bush is, his approval rating is still five or six points higher than Harry Truman's was when he left office in 1952.
Pretty weird, huh?
I wasn't around in '52, but it is hard to imagine that any president was ever less popular than Bush is right now.
I guess that whole nuclear bomb thing really hurt Harry. That's what happens when you incinerate a million civilians.

May 10, 2007, 12:06 p.m.If the US, a country that was built on genocide, does not stop genocides, then we do not deserve to exist. Saddam's regime was a thirty year genocide of Iraq for personal power. Iraq needs stability with its infant democracy and must not be left to the mercy of foreign armies from Arabia, Syria, Turkey and Iran. Iraq needs reconciliation and amnesty for Baathists. Iraq needs an oil law that sends the billions in revenue directly to the Iraqi people. Iraq needs to stamp out corruption and pay its police and armed forces. The US, EU, Arab League and UN must send troops immediately to stop a humanitarian crisis in Iraq. Punishing Bush is only punishing Iraqis.
The US, EU, Arab League and UN must not allow the Sudanese government's genocide, mass rape and enslavery of native Africans.
