May 9, 2007, 11:29 p.m.Cancer is a dreadful disease. Why is Tammy suffering from it? What about her faith and her God? Is this a message from her God? I find it perplexing that she has been suffering from this dreadful disease on and off since 2004 and the doctors have now stopped treating it and yet her husband is out building churches, instead of being close to her during what may be her last moments on earth. Building churches to God? And why is that God not healing Tammy?

May 10, 2007, 1:07 p.m.I hope people don't take this the wrong way but we are all terminal. I realized at a very early age that I was going to die, this revelation set me free from the worry about it, it allowed me to enjoy life so far and to appreciate it fully. When someone has something bad happen to themselves they should not question why, this is life and if you do have any faith you should not blame god. As for Tammy Faye Baker I do wish the best in the life she has remaining and hope the rest of her life is free of pain and worry.

May 10, 2007, 1:11 p.m.I used to watch her on PTL Club, picking at her excessive eye make-up while talking and singing a religious song. Her bursting into tears occasionally while Jim was interviewing a guest was always alarming.
On my friend's public radio show we recently did an on vinyl "Christian Puppet Caged Match" alternately playing Tammy Faye Bakker's puppet's singing songs up against Little Marcy's squeaky doll voiced Christian songs like "Be careful little hands what you do, be careful little eyes what you see." It was genuinely freaky.
(There was a Little Marcy video on YouTube. If it's still there it's amazing.) We also played cuts from daughter Tammy Sue Bakker's disco-y album Sixteen.

May 10, 2007, 1:15 p.m.Anyway, PTL Club was the last of the non-paranoid, non hateful, non-agenda based Christian television shows.
It was actually fun! -Compared to Pat Robertson's 700 Club, that pushes armageddon, Falwell pushing hatred of 911 victims, or Haggard hypocritically selling anti-gay hatred, it was a nice Christian "Tonight Show".
The show crashed when Jim went on a World-Wide Ministry Outreach and left Tammy in charge.
My friend and I watched over 300 hours of Jim and Tammy and will recount more from those broadcasts with just the slightest encouraging comment...(like the time Chuck Coulson was on right after he got out of jail...)

July 21, 2007, 1:03 a.m.It is my wish that Mrs. Messner be free from pain and suffering, be able to eat, be able to be comfortable, and continue the good works that she has done throughout her life. Mrs. Messner is a lady who was well ahead of her time and we are all blessed in someway for having her in our lives at one point or another.
She may be famous to some for her make-up, but she has a beautiful voice and has made a lasting impression on many of us. A world with out her being in it is a world that has lost the voice of an angel. God bless her and her family, The pain she is suffering and is enduring is a testament to her belief in the higher being. She is truly a wonderful person!
