A gunman boarded a Chicago Transit Authority bus on the city's South Side on Thursday afternoon and opened fire, killing one teenager and wounding four others, authorities said.

The suspect fired multiple shots and then exited the bus and ran, said Assistant Deputy Superintendent Eugene Williams. He did not comment about a motive for the shooting and asked the public to call in with tips.

This is one of a number of reasons that I don't take public transportation when I go to Chicago.....the last time myself and some friends of mine went downtown and hopped a taxi to the Sears Tower we ended up running down a purse snatcher who tried to take the purse of the lady sharing our taxi.
