May 13, 2007, 12:40 a.m.Habeas - you should care because it is freedom at stake. Internet radio allows you to find a music station you like and listen over your computer. If your radio reception is poor, or it is a station too far away to pick up, you can still listen on your computer. Many on-air stations also send their programs out over the Internet. It is then possible to move across the country and still listen to your hometown radio station.
There are money grubbers out there who would rather charge excessive amounts and kill internet radio, so they would get nothing, rather than get a small amount. Dogs in the manger. Kill the goose in an attempt to get more eggs.

Internet radio means variety, which lets struggling artists publish their works to a wide audience at very little cost. There are stations for religious nuts, free thinkers, great music, political discourse, etc. Why would you want to kill it? Only totalitarians hate it since they can't control the message, like the FCC does with conventional radio stations.
Try the google to find your favorite, or go to live365 to make your own station.
