Critics say exotic animals such as this Siberian tiger are too unpredictable to be kept as pets.

UM, YAH!!! I would love to own a black pantera onca AKA black jaguar, but I KNOW for one, it's not 'kosher' to keep wild animals caged like that, and also they certainly are unpredictable.

I watch that tv program'when animals attack', and trust me, wild animals should not be contained in small spaces for long periods of time, because they lash out, and a wild animal on a rampage causes serious harm to whomever is nearby. This tiger probably never liked his owner's girlfriend, thats why he mauled her. who knows?!

People should realize that wild animals are exactly that...wild, who belong's in they're native natural habitat, unemcumbered by man.

The USDA is coming down hard on private individuals that own these cats. They should never be owned by private individuals because they are wild animals and unpredictable, and tigers have the worse reputation shared with wolves. There have been several deaths over the last 5 years in Florida due to tiger attack.

I make it a personal policy ever since a male wolf had the back of my head in his jaws to NEVER work again with anything big enough to put my head in it's mouth!! (Or the owners of such animals that aren't competent handlers)

I do have a Panther for education use and treat her with the utmost respect when in her habitat. She thinks she still weighs 10 pounds and wants to play. No one other than myself and back up team goes in and that is only to leash her for transport to outside facility for education program.

You don't just go into a big cats habitat and pet them.....what were they thinking!!!!!!

This lead story says she was inside enclosure, the news item says she wasn't. Gads check what you post.

lock up a human for a extended period of time and see what happens....they are free beings like us and deserve no less.

If i was to go in to pet a big cat like that i would just put on a bunny suit so as not to appear too imposing and scare the poor thing.
