Bush's wink becomes a royal pain »
Posted by: TechnologyExpert 2 years, 7 months agoOh, he tried. He really did. And yet President Bush managed to come off as a yokel during Queen Elizabeth's U.S. visit. He stumbled over dates in his speech, adding two centuries to the British monarch's age by indicating that she'd visited the U.S. in 1776, not 1976. And then he winked at her majesty as though she were a waitress at the IHOP.

May 14, 2007, 10:20 a.m.He has no class. The Queen and all who traveled with her probably laughed their heads off at this guy. And then probably ask the question a lot of us have ask. How did he become President?

May 14, 2007, 12:18 p.m.GET A CLUE WOULD YA! Bush is an embarassment to the country, to his family and to himself. If you had any sense, he'd be an embarassment to you, too. Someone who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth, had the benefit of attending the finest schools, had every possible opportunity handed to him on a silver plate, and can neither think, speak or act intelligently is either mentally challenged (excusable) or lazy, trifling and ill mannered (unexcusable)!

What do you expect out of Hillary??
Don't forget. She was the President of the Young Republicans Club at Wellesley.
So she was a phony to begin with....

May 14, 2007, 7:17 p.m.No the wink is just another of the public embarassements Dumya has inflicted on the nation. The impeachment is for lies to start a war, illegal wiretapping, trampling on the COnsititution, politicizing the Dept of Justice,...... that list goes on and on.

May 14, 2007, 7:51 p.m.'We've tried 657 times now to find a reason to impeach him over.'
And we've succeeded every time.
'First 90% of Dems voted to go to war with Iraq.'
First off, your percentages are wrong. get your facts straight secondchance.
Second, I admire how you quickly point out information that has absolutely NO BEARING on what scott4261 said. Bush lied to Congress, deceiving them, presenting them with lies that would leave them with virtually no choice BUT to go to war. It is easily an impeachable offense, with has nothing to do with Republican or Democrat votes in Congress.

May 14, 2007, 6:02 p.m.I agree with you completely on Hillary Clinton. But my motivations are different. You probably view her as an "ultra-liberal leftist," while I just see her as a Republican-lite opportunist who (should she become the Democratic nominee) may cause me to vote 3rd party for President for the first time since I started voting in 1980.
You are blinded by your ideology and you obviously cannot accept any criticism of the Bush Administration. I can and will criticize anyone who is a threat to the U.S. Constitution. Since Bush has compromised 6 out of the 10 Amendments in the Bill of Rights, I believe it is my patriotic duty to speak out
Luckily, the 1st Amendment still allows all of us to criticize both Republicans, Democrats, or anyone else (or it least we still had that right the last time I checked....I'm still checking todays news...).
No hate here. I'm just calling it as I see it.

May 14, 2007, 12:24 p.m.What about the Queen's idiot son? Like she's the epitome of brightness? And her hubby?

May 14, 2007, 12:55 p.m.An idiot??? Now don't you think that is going too far?
Bush aspires to be an idiot, but he hasn't got there yet.

May 14, 2007, 2:19 p.m.He acts as though he is a superior, or least equal, to those in power of other countries. He doesn't give them respect and it is hurting our already damaged image in the rest of the world.
He needs to take things more seriously and not try and use familiarity to cover his ignorance.

May 14, 2007, 3:07 p.m.Oh please! The Royal family has class? That old tart and her pathetic husband (who makes Bill Clinton look like a boy scout) are living in a different century. Yes please lets take "CLASS" lessons from Prince "I want to be your tampon" Charles, or porn dating Prince Andrew or Nazi uniform wearing Prince Harry.
Bush may be an idiot, but he is higher on the food chain than that inbred lot.

May 14, 2007, 6:55 p.m.Hey, he may have mixed up a date, he may occassionally (or more often) fumble around with words. So what if he isn't a great speaker.
AT LEAST HE HASN'T FORGOTTEN HIS MARRIAGE VOWS LIKE GOOD 'OL FORMER PRESIDENT CLINTON HAS TIME AND TIME AGAIN.
President George W Bush is not one known for backing down on his word. Can't say that about President Clinton, can we? My goodness, his own wife can't trust him!
My point being this . . . I would much rather have a President that mixes up words than a President who can't keep his word.
Thanks for letting me share my two cents worth.

May 13, 2007, 7:56 p.m.What a national embarrassment. Is it too much to ask for him to spend more than a few minutes preparing for state visits? Who is letting him show up so unprepared?

May 13, 2007, 9:55 p.m.Frankly, I think that George Sr. and Barbara are 1st cousins. ..perhaps even brother and sister.

May 14, 2007, 5:58 a.m.And then he added 9,500 to the number of dead from the tornado in Kansas, and he put on a fake southern accent at a black church, and he sent an unpaid campaign worker to stand in line for a Playstation 3, and he broke all of his promises when he got elected to Congress in 2004, and he hid his middle name, and he screamed like a jackass in Iowa in 2003...no...wait...those were done by DEMOCRATS! Sorry!

May 14, 2007, 9:19 a.m.Though I can see why the Brits love the Queen and that history, I never have been able to figure out why one must tip toe around them and try not to offend her Highness. She is as human as the next person, though born into 'royalty'. It seems to me there are just too many ways to offend no matter how hard one tries. The US is more relaxed; heck if you had a grief with the president you can look him in the eye and put your feelings on the line without all this nonsense. I think this is just another thing people that don't like him can make much to do about nothing
