Posted by: Aidenag 2 years, 7 months ago

On Dec. 7, 2001, nearly three months after the terrorist attack that had made him a national hero and a little over three weeks before he would leave office, New York Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani took the first official step toward making himself rich.

Warning: Generalization to follow. This doesn't apply to all members of either major party; your individual mileage may vary.

Funny how when someone on the right uses 9/11 for political or financial profit, it's not seen as a negative thing by the party faithful. But if someone from the other side of the political aisle notices and comments, then it's they who are accused of politicizing the situation.

Larry Silverstein also made off big from 9/11. 7 weeks before 9/11, he took out a $3.2 billion 99 year lease on the World Trade Center...specifically related to acts of terror.

He also owned WTC 7, which also collapsed that day.

I'd he made out pretty good....

Do you think Giuliani would be a nominee for president if 9/11 hadn't happened?

how can anyone vote for a man whose best day politically was america's worst day ever?

if 911 never happened, giuliani would be (barely) remembered as one of the many mediocre ex-mayors of NYC.

We all have to remember that until 9/11 occurred, Rudy had become the most unpopular mayor in the City of New York. What did he do after that? He went to a few funerals!!!

I have a sure fire way for a person to become President!!

Now Rudy during 9/11 wore a face mask around the streets of New York and became a "Hero".

Now here's the way to become a president, tell your candidate to wear an aqua lung. Its a no brainer, they will be put on a pedestal and worshipped and adored. They will be your Leader.

I'm sure Old Rudy was probably already ultra wealthy, but i must give it to those old repugs, they are very resourceful, if there is a dollar out there, they will find a way to get it into their greedy little palms.

And yet the riches Michael Moore gained from 9/11 go strangely overlooked.

So if Moore made a couple million bucks less than Guiliani, Moore is still an angel?

Lots of people made lots of money off 9/11. Why is it an issue? Michael Moore? Big deal. He made a documentary film. Film makers make films. There was enough interest in his film, obviously for it to make as much money as it did. Since we're talking about 9/11, the real question is, over 5 years later, how come there's still a big hole in Lower Manhattan?

I am reading your back and forth debate about the candidates, and you keep refering to immigrants. I am also in favor of Immigration, But legal immigration, not some fence jumping illegal. There are 12 plus million in this country and you want to make them citizens on the spot. You have got to be kidding. They will continue to come across illegally, and they then send most of their money back to Mexico, by the way which is Mexico's largest resource. The illegals are draining our health care, our schools, and yes of course all the benefits that are given to them. All they have to do now is go to San Fran, the safe sancuturary. Damn

...like Nancy Spewlosi, who can afford to live where the illegals can't afford to live, while they trash where the rest of us have to. Lucky *itch!
