Jimmy Carter calls on Congress to revisit Don't Ask, Don't Tell »

In a statement issued to the Servicemembers Legal Defense Network, Former president Jimmy Carter has called upon Congress to revisit Don't Ask, Don't Tell, the policy prohibiting open lesbians and gays from serving in the US military.

    This would be a serious threat to the far right.

    They would find out that many of these lesbian and gay people are just as patriotic and willing to serve their country to protect their freedom.

    Just as willing, probably more willing, and more patriotic, too.

      Because one is gay or lesbian should have no bearing on their right to serve in the military.
