What are people sacrificing to pay high gas prices? »

Whatever the approach, people across the region are responding to the higher cost of gas, which last week topped $3 a gallon for regular unleaded.

    I think once it's hits 4 dollars a gallon then some will reconsider their big SUV'S..

        I've heard that some are having to give up their Starbucks fix.

          I hope they are avoiding purchasing from the mini-marts at these stations. The stuff they sell is overpriced anyway. Unlike the purchase of gasoline, buying from mini-marts is discretionary and only adds more profit to the big oil cabal. This is one area where the consumers (us) can exercise total control, just like the oil companies do with gasoline.

            $3 isn't high. Europe pays more than twice that for their gas (though it's of better quality). I'd be willing to bet Americans will sacrifice their children before their SUVs.

              Dionys - hate to tell ya this but gas is gas no matter where you get it.

              I just got back from the UK where petrol is the equivilant of $8 a gallon but most it is taxes - about 80% - just the reverse here most of it goes to the refiners.

              How do you think Exxon-Mobile made the highest profits on record? by charitable contributions?
