May 18, 2007, 10 a.m.From the article....
"I don't know if the immigration legislation is going to bear fruit and we're going to be able to pass it," said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., who harbored "serious concerns" about the deal."
He also thinks we have "lost" the war!
I can't believe the Democrats (not the voters but the lawmakers) are so friggin stupid to have such a cynical individual with his "defeatist" attitude as their "leader"!
No wonder they aren't getting a damn thing done!

May 18, 2007, 10:14 a.m.The Immigration department itself is a mess & needs to get better organized and functioning before they can handle another 20 million people.
Meanwhile more people are crossing our borders between check points!
Reality check; Sen. Kennedy and his co-workers need to move to a town near the border and live for a year and need to live on the American working peoples min.wage of $5.15 an hour and $21 a week in food stamps. Kennedy and associates would be crying and begging to get their other lives back!
How can the American people be blamed for the failures of other countries governments to provide for their own citizens in their own countries?

May 18, 2007, 2:54 p.m.Can we actually seal off the border? If we can't do that, we'll be handing out "Z " visas to illegal aliens in about a decade after the next round of immigration wrangling.

May 18, 2007, 3:24 p.m.I think this bill will be the ruin of America. I feel badly for the poor wanting a better life. My dislike for the bill is because of the harm it will do to the people that are LEGAL AMERICANS. You will see tax increases, social security go bankrupt and our country crumble, our traditions errode. I have a friend who is a Principal in the Chicago school systems. The illegals come here with no papers. They are classified as homeless and are not refused an education. Extra teachers that speak spanish have to be hired. The burden is on the US middle class tax payers. Our taxes in Illinois are so high it is all one can do to exist, forget extra luxeries. In California, Arizona the hospitals are almost bankrupt from free care. These two states along with Texas and New Mexico the illegals are the largest in population, hence more financial stress on our goverment and the American Tax payer. If that super Highway from mexico to canada gets approved US truckers LOOK OUT! You 2 will have NO JOB

May 18, 2007, 5:34 p.m.And once again this Kennedy forces a bill down our throats and thinks that we love it, that we are all for it. For the life of me I can not figure out why this man keeps getting voted into his power. No matter how much those people in his homestate tries. They think he will turn into John or Bobby. He is far from them yet he is not. He is still a Kennedy.
This bill is no different than the one '86. All these promises but it will never be backed. They will turn a blind eye to those who will be trying to get in still. They will not get 1% to come out and say they are illegal if this bill is passed. What makes them think that they all will?
This is a joke, a bandaid over a gaping gash of a wound. If you look at all of the ones who are for this bill. You will find that you voted these people back in. You voted for their stance on the war. But every last one of these politicians that you voted in want this bill. No one is to blame but those that voted them back in.
