Posted by: Aidenag 2 years, 5 months ago

With scarcely a mention in the mainstream media, President Bush has ordered up a plan for responding to a catastrophic attack. Under that plan, he entrusts himself with leading the entire federal government, not just the Executive Branch. And he gives himself the responsibility "for ensuring constitutional government."

"Catastrophic Emergency" means any incident, regardless of location, that results in extraordinary levels of mass casualties, damage, or disruption severely affecting the U.S. population, infrastructure, environment, economy, or government functions"

Essentially, This means he can take over the ENTIRE government after he personally deems something "Catastrophic". He has no checks or balances for this one at all. Earthquake, Hurricane, Terrorist Attack, Protests,Riots you name it. Heck the wording is so vague he could most likely use incidents not even on US soil so long as it's "affecting the U.S. population" in some manner.

what would certain men and corporations do if hundreds of billions of dollars in contracts and sweetheart deals are on the line? would they leave things to chance at the ballot box?

Is there anyone who can come up with any reference that points to him having the authority to enact this plan?

I can't seem to find any prior document where the President is either allowed these powers or allowed to declare unto himself these powers.

This looks to me like an open grab for dictatorial authority.

Here is another example of this sort of legislation.

This sounds like his war on terror scam so that he can walk all over the Constitution.
