May 21, 2007, 5:49 p.m.i'm no fan of al gore, but if he's talking about Bush and a quest for power, I can't disagree with that concept. Maybe it's grandstanding, maybe not. But, the fact of the matter remains - this government has shown a complete and utter disdain for the principles of the founding fathers and the constitution.
The Constitution was written to limit what government can do, and politicians on both sides of the aisle have ignored much of it for more than a century. What has this led to?
Well, we now have a government that lies to us, spies on us, reads our emails, watches our bank accounts, wages wars, kills people in foreign lands, and on and on and on...
I just hope people will start looking at all this and decide it's time to "bound the government by the chains of the constitution"
whew.

May 21, 2007, 6:54 p.m.I can only compare the present situation of Bush and Cheney with that of Job, upon his dungheap, without any help from god, or satan, all of their own making.
The sores are festering, and there will be no pleasant end called death.

May 21, 2007, 2:56 p.m.This is a question that every American should ask!
"But in the book Gore sheds his inner Marshall McLuhan for his inner Michael Moore, saying that if "Bush and Cheney actually believed in the linkage (between Iraq and al Qaeda) that they asserted -- in spite of all the evidence to the contrary presented to them contemporaneously -- that would by itself in light of the available evidence, make them genuinely unfit to lead our nation. On the other hand, if they knew the truth and lied, massively and repeatedly, isn't that worse? Are they too gullible or too dishonest?"
What is it? Do you not want to know the truth?
Are you just going sit on your hands and let them run out the clock?
Or is like this?
"You can't handle the truth! Son, we live in a world that has walls. And those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You?"

May 21, 2007, 7:24 p.m.It is great to see that people can still speak out and rebuke the administration that would take this right away if allowed. While the little people get thrown in jail for protesting in public and have to fear being labeled a terrorist, at least the giants like Gore and Carter are willing to speak out and remind us that it is our duty as citizens to not only question the ineptitude, incompetence, and illegal acts of Bush, Cheney, Gonzales, and others who are presently disgracing our country.

May 21, 2007, 7:50 p.m.Ahhâ;¦ The pot calls the kettle black again. It's all about the 2008 election from this would-be president. I hate to let him know it's always been about power. The politics in the United States is now only driven by power for power. It's across the board â;; they are all dirty â;; both sides of the isles.

May 21, 2007, 9:12 p.m.Consider yourselves lucky that he wasn't at the helm when 9/11 occurred. If you think Jimmy Carter was a wuss Al Gore would be clutching his Teddy Bear and sucking his thumb until the bogeyman went away.
Don't give what this boob says any more credence. He is just a minor annoyance.

May 21, 2007, 9:32 p.m.This is Al Gore, for the record, speaking to the future generations of historians.
No doubt it will be compared to George W Bush's book, which when he writes it, will have been one of the most highly anticipated works of fiction since Harry Potter.

In other words, Gore is trying to settle a score with Bush - he never got over Florida.
If Gore has so many good ideas, he should run for president and put them into practice. Let's see if he can get things done. Anyone can write a book.

May 21, 2007, 11:17 p.m.The article makes me want to read the book. BUT, I am disappointed Gore stopped short of calling for impeachment ... which should be followed by removal from office, arrest and incarceration of the whole Bush Neocon group.
