Posted by: pawfoots 2 years, 7 months agoI am all for the war. I agree that we should be spending whatever is necessary to continue the war and the fight. Having said that, I thought this article was interesting when they compared what else the $426 billion could be used for. Interesting stuff.

May 23, 2007, 11:56 a.m.Wish we could buy back a few of those lost in the attack on the WTC. The Islamic jihaddists hate the Americans and are willing to do whatever they can to hurt any American. The irony is, even though it is well spent, the liberals want to go back to pre-attack policies of "ignoring" the bad-guys, and taxing the Americans!

May 23, 2007, 11:57 a.m.I don't see how anyone can support the Iraq War at this point. When the top commanders all conceed that a military victory is not possible what is the point? We are now the security force for the Iraqi people, trying to protect them from each other and various outsiders. There isn't much left of the professional class from which to rebuild. Most of those with the resources to leave, have left. We create this humanitarian disaster attempting to police Saddam. It was never our job. That much we should have learned by now.
To read a list like this is disheartening. We spend our money for depleted uranium bombs when we could be feeding the poor? If there is a God may he/she/it have vast mercy on us.

May 23, 2007, 3:03 p.m.What $1.2 Trillion Can Buy
The human mind isn't very well equipped to make sense of a figure like $1.2 trillion. We don't deal with a trillion of anything in our daily lives, and so when we come across such a big number, it is hard to distinguish it from any other big number. Millions, billions, a trillion รข;; they all start to sound the same.
