Susan Ralston, the former executive assistant to top White House adviser Karl Rove, invoked her rights against self-incrimination while she was being asked to answer questions by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, the Committee's Chairman, Rep. Henry Waxman, announced in a memo Tuesday.

The deposition for which she sat concerned contacts between convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff and Rove, as well as the White House more broadly.

Why is this any surprise to anyone? Scooter Libby was set up and may wind up in jail because he didn't plead the fifth. When you subpoena presidential advisers, they are less likely to offer the Prez advice. And when you see Libby as an example, you would have to be nuts to answer any questions from Congress.
These are not hearings. They are perjury traps.

Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. How do these guys keep finding people willing to take a fall for them?
And for all of you who say that Bush and Gonzales haven't broken any laws, look at the NSA wiretapping documents. It was illegal and the president tried to say that he is above the law. Gonzales said the same thing in his testimony. That they did what is against the laws and the constitution, but because he is the president, Bush doesn't have to follow laws.
Disgusting behavior from a morally bankrupt administration.

its a perjury trap because they know there actually were NO laws broken--like libby--like the whole plame circus--there was no underlying crime--its just partisan posturing for their hard left base--thats where all the democrat money is coming from--i dont see why anyone would tesify about anything in this environment of prosecutoial abuse gone mad--keep it up dems--last month ..bush aproval..steady--dem approval down 6%..congress approval..down 8%--way to go pelosi & reid
