Democrats Retreat on Iraq Funding Bill »

The Congressional Retreat and Surrender Caucus surrendered to the Bush Administration today and retreated from their promise that funding for the troops include a date for withdrawl from Iraq. The surrender to Bush was a predictable outcome for Democrats, who despite the defeat, vowed to continue to plead for the Pelosi Retreat and Surrender Plan.

In politics, you do what you have the votes to do. To continue to stonewall when you don't have enough support to win your position is not to fight Bush policies but to adopt them.
If the Democrats continued to send up bills for vetos they cannot override, Bush would soon paint them as not supporting our troops. And the American people, with their -1 second memory, would say, Oh yes. The democrats are denying bullets to our army in harms way.
What's actually wrong with America is not George Bush or Congress or Corrupt Politicians. All those problems exist, but WHY do they exist. What's wrong with America today is we've slid into a bunch of dilettantes that care only about our personal entertainment and getting bigger SUVs.
All it takes to get out of Iraq is a massive call in/write in campaign to your elected representatives. But that would take valuable time away from important stuff like American Idol. Instead, Bush's new war on Iran will go ahead.

You can be sure that Pelosi and Reid will not surrender what's really important to them - Pork.
Who cares about Iraq as long as the earmarks keep on rolling?

ET, What is wrong with America is America believing it has to listen to people like you tell them what is best for them. If I want my SUV and entertainment system then who are you to tell me I can't have them? Sam Adams would put his rebel foot up yours. I really get tired of people defining what the American people should want or do. Who the hell are you anyway? But your condescending 1 second memory tells me you are the type that is shocked at losing elections after calling literate Americans Walmart shoppers for not eating your spoonfed BS.
