Monica Provides Another Blow to the Executive! »

Posted by: trnscndr 2 years, 6 months ago

I just couldn't resist the headline. But this Monica does not wear a blue dress, but she may help to bring down her boss. "I didn't mean to break the law," seemed to be the line of the day for Monica Goodling as it was repeated often in her testimony to congress today.

Finally someone is shedding light on the cockroach activity in this administration. How many conservatives will come to her rescue now and make excuses for her behavior?

... For a "lawyer' she is...she is a nitwit/space cadet...in the video she claims she crossed the line doing something illegal, knowingly, and yet she utters, "She didn't mean to do it"...that is crass stupidity...I wouldn't want this scatterbrain 'lawyer'....defending me!!

these are some very serious charges to be made in an ostensibly free democracy. it's really something more fitting to the politburo.

Monica is a graduate of Pat Robertson's Regent University class of 99. Only 40% of that class passed the bar exam on the first attempt. A classmate of her's is running the DoJ office in Minnesota where 3 or more proffesional lawyers, one with 18 years experience have quit rather than work for her.

Don't we deserve a better government than this?

She's got immunity and she still can't answer a question straight.

Ignorance is no excuse, so she has a lot of "no excuses"

Looks like she's been getting pointers on how to testify from Great Obfuscator Gonzales himself.

Why is it that a lawyer can not answer a question? Always a spin so there is a back way out. I firmly believe that lawyers should be banned from politics as many issues are clear cut violations when common sense is applied but not if a lawyer gets involved

Did she of didn't she.... or did she say that he said, that they said, or that she knew she may have maybe sorta broke the rules, or is that law(s), or did she really mean to say what we thought she was really saying but not actually saying? Another Monica.....

Pat Robertson's Regent University produces layers good enough to hold some of the highest positions, in this administration view, well unless your GB's personal layer then it Harvard. Of course Harvard doesn't seem to help you memory any.

Regent University School of Law. If I see that diploma posted in my lawyer's office I will run to the nearest door and not look back. If she was smart, she would have done what her boss did and develop amnesia.

I saw this on the news and thought this is just plain stupid, If this represents the legal situation in the U.S. no wonder there are problems. May have not paid enough attention to it but did she say she was only carring the policy of the administration, I'm a little confused by her answers.

She said she did'nt mean to cross the line, but she would'nt admit breaking the law. She's in the right profession allright. Side-stepping the main issue,& a lot of double talk with no meaning.

Republicans point to Democrats and say "what a lying, unprincipled bunch of weasels!" Democrats point to Republicans and say pretty much the same.

                                    They are both right.

That is why I find the endless rounds of "Republicans suck" and "democrats reek" posts on Netscape and elsewhere to be tiresome. They skirt the core issue - NOBODY in DC is looking out for the interests of working people, the dramas we see enacted between Republicrat and Demopublican are just tensions between various factions of elites playing themselves out.

Screw 'em all. Time to get some class consciousness and start promoting our own collective interest.

Who is hotter, Monica Lewinski or Monica Gooding? My vote goes to Gooding. She's a blonde and they have more fun. At least Gooding seemed to be having a good time until she was called to testify in the Justice Department's scandal of the decade. I believe that she was ignorant of the law. Bush doesn't have the best record for hiring *qualified* people. "Heck of a job, Brownie!" In fact, the only person he has hired that was qualified was Karl Rove. The Rover did do a good job a getting an idiot elected to office... TWICE. "Heck of a job, Rovie!"

This lady was in charge of hiring prosecutors and judges. When asked what experience she had hiring and firing executives she said she was on the some student college committee at the University. They reasked the question telling her to omit any experiences in college and she said the only other experience was with the RNC.

When one Republican on the panel had a turn to ask her questions, instead of asking questions, he read her a story out of the newspaper. So fatherly, these republicans.

I guess you want me to read the list of cockroach behavior under the Clinton administration? Do you actually believe this was any different under the Democrats? Why didn't they clean this up when Clinton fired his attorneys? Why no bipartisan hiring practices? Why not set the example instead of trotting out Clinton's drinking buddies? Pigs calling each other dirty. What a waste of time and money.

It's so reassuring to see how many people on this thread who, if in a similar situation would not allow political leanings to influence their decisions ... NOT!

Live in the denial all you want, but I'm sure that most (if not all) people would find their decisions being at least sub-consciously by their political ideals.
