Let's Do It; Let's Impeach Bush »

Posted by: bobo-in-texas 2 years, 7 months ago

I haven't read the thing, itself, but I have now read several accounts of Al Gore's new book, Assault on Reason, wherein he trashes the Bush 43 administration from start to finish, enumerating all of Bush's "lies" and mistakes.

"1) Bush Stole [2000] the Election!"

Yeah, he (or those working for him) probably did, but the Diebold machines that recorded such whacky votes keep no auditable trail, so it is conveniently unprovable.

"2) Bush Lied Us Into War!"

Actually looks like it was more Bush's brain, Cheney and his cohorts that did that. I'd put it past GWB's capability anyway. In the contest between incompetent idiot and evil genius, Bush 43 clearly falls on the incompetent idiot side of the line.

"3) Bush Wanted to Privatize Social Security!"

Yep. Privatizing Walter Reid worked so swimmingly. Let's just save EVERYTHING by turning the entire IRS and all government functions over to totally honest private industry. Wouldn't it be great to have Enron with the ability to tax Americans and seize property?

"4) Bush Killed the Surplus with Tax Cuts!"

What part of 3.5 trillion dollars in additional debt do you fail to understand.

I could keep refuting, but the problem is, damning though it may be, this is just a record of Bush incompetence, not a list of high crimes.

Impeach bush because the illegally authorized warrant-less eavesdropping on US citizens when the FISA court already gave him all the power he needed to fight terrorism. Impeach him for running an administration which started a war of aggression, a direct violation of treaties we have signed. The Constitution says that legally ratified treaties are a part of the law of the land. The Nuremberg Protocols and UN Charter (treaties signed and ratified by the USA) say that wars of aggression (attacks against sovereign states who pose no direct threat to the attacking country) are the highest of war crimes, since all other war crimes flow out ot such behavior.

Al Gore is FULL OF S&*T!!! Speaking of an assault on reason, I had the pleasure of watching the Gasbag on The Daily Show and he states that before the war 70% of people believed Saddam Hussein had some hand in 9/11.

I have a question for those of you out there who are into this thing called "reason":

          WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE!?!

Have the rules changed? Is Congress not the body that votes for war anymore? Wasn't Gore in Congress? Shouldn't he know who votes for war?

It doesn't matter what the American people think, it only matter what the Congresspeople think. Did The Other Clinton or Kerry think Saddam did 9/11? And I thought we went to war over WMDs? Why didn't Gore reason that out? Was an opinion poll Gasbag's BEST SHOT?

Neophile posted a story and said Al Gore would be "swift boated" because of his book. No need to do that; we just had to wait for Gore to open his mouth and he gave people plenty of rope to hang him with.

Bush is the most impeachable President since, well, since Bill Clinton. And he may well be the worst President in history; we'll have to see who wins in 2008.

What does the winner of 2008 have to do with what is going on now ?

If Bush were convicted of a crime or a war crime impeachment would pass. After Clinton, I do not see a sitting President standing trial unless it is overt. Especially during a war like Iraq.

Catholic Redneck, Consider this. Bush is not committing genocide as many US Presidents did as they cancelled treaties when the US pushed out into the American Ohio Valley, South, Florida, Dakotas, Texas and Hawaii. In the Philippines, the US routinely tortured such as the Bush military has done using waterboarding. The difference is Bush did not execute every rebel above ten as the US did in the Philippines. In some cases, entire villages were wiped out. Even though the Japanese used genocide in China and had their war industries were concentrated in the major cities, Bush has not used weapons of mass destruction. Lincoln's assault on US liberty went much further when he suspended habeus corpus and arrested notherners during the US Civil War. Bush's pandering to big business does not come close to what was done for the railroad and industrial giants of the US before antitrust and labor laws were introduced. Is Bush the worst? Absolutely not. Not even close.

I wonder...in pointing fingers, what is Gore's angle? Bush's follies are apparent, even a 7 year old can see them; but Gore pointing them out to make book sales and television appearances makes me wonder about his motivation?

Is he just interested in getting his version of the truth out for profit or a vendetta for a stolen election?

When you do nothing it kills more than any bullet. You McGrievysr have no blood on your hands. You pretend you care about people. You did nothing when Hizbollah and PLO massacred the Christians in Lebanon. I went to Lebanon so the Lebanese army would push out the PLO bombers. I ended up with American blood on my hands. I went to Somalia to stop gunmen from stealing food from starving kids. I ended up with American blood on my hands. You did nothing. I went to Iraq and rammed my hummvee into a carbomber who was going to kill women and children who were out shopping. I ended up with American blood on my hands. You did nothing. Americans are out there losing their lives to save lives. Back here Americans name call, jabber and in the end do nothing. By doing nothing we end up with genocides and everyone can point to how the bad guys did it and it wasn't our fault. We kill them by ignoring them and doing nothing. It is our fault.

The thing is though, Bush cant do anything right.. NO matter what it is in the democrats eyes the man can do absolutely NO RIGHT whatsoever!!! What I really want to hear is how all the liberal loons feel about their fellow democrats continuing to fund the war!!! CAVING INTO BUSH'S PLAN!!!! I find this hysterical myself... Bush is not the evil man that most of you think he is, and does deserve praise for keeping us safe since 911.. But you bitter liberals are still angry about how he romped gores rear and then Kerrys as well... Typical behavior from a majority of democrats, afterall all the liberals I know are some of the most unhappy, bitter, angry people I have ever met in my life, and can do little but complain about life in general... I find it pathetic.. nough said
