May 24, 2007, 12:54 a.m.Shocking. I know this is about Muslims, but let's turn the tables for a moment.
How could anyone who worships Jesus Christ be against decapitation, racial bigotry and suicide bombing of anyone who's just a little different than the bomber? These people must have actually read the Bible. Don't they know that real Right-wing Christians are NEVER supposed to do that. They are just supposed to hate whomever the preacher man says to hate and believe whatever the preacher man says to believe and most importantly of all, give whatever the preacher man says to give.
If American Christians can fall into such a trap, is it any wonder that poorly educated and unemployed Muslims with virtually no hope to better the lives of their families might do so as well?

May 24, 2007, 1:05 a.m.No doubt the blogger was making a parody of this:
http://www.nypost.com/seven/05232007/news/natio...
One out of four young U.S. Muslims believe suicide bombings against innocent civilians are OK to defend Islam, a disturbing new poll revealed yesterday.
The nationwide survey - one of the most exhaustive ever conducted of American Muslim attitudes - also found widespread doubt that Islamic terrorists carried out the 9/11 attacks.

May 24, 2007, 4:05 p.m.The PEW questions establish an automatic bias for those being asked and for the public at large and as such, are worse than worthless, being misleading.
To have real meaning, a survey is also required of ordinary non-muslims as well and the questions phrased so they eliminate ethnic, cultural, religious, national origin and other such classic distorting factors. Then report the results according to those ethnic, etc classificatons.
The key aspects of the questions which were asked have to do with attitudes towards attacks on non-combatant persons and properties and towards self sacrifice.
Appropriate questions are whether it is acceptable to target children, elderly, women and disabled; whether self sacrifice is permissible if one expects 90 to 100 per cent of the mission to be killed.
Without such careful questions, the perspective and understand of the issues are lost.
(The U.S. made a great break from the traditional rules of war with it's strategic bombing in WW II.)
