Posted by: Neophile 2 years, 5 months ago

Two serious food contamination incidents have bowed the food industry over the past couple of months. The ConAgra and Menu Foods incidents are as far apart as peanut butter and pet food. While distinct in many ways, together they show how you can never let your guard down on food safety.

Walmart's affect on whole industries is just now starting to be felt. Imagine 10 years from now when their strangehold has a chance to mature and spread.

I fear the day that Walmart truly goes "green". It will be the death knell for the green movement..

I have total faith in George W. to manage this situation.

People got to have faith i nour presdient.

George W. believes that Communist China should be the salvation of our nation.

George W. says it, I believes it, and thats all there is to it!

Chinese Communists and George W. - to the future, and beyond!

Food safety is something the fed and state agents don't really pay much attention to anymore. Experience semi skilled stockers are the ones that keep bent cans and open packages off the shelf. The stores are only as good as the manager demands, if a manager is more into quality, then a stocker can have that shelf clean, full, in the right spot on the shelf. No bent cans. The Meat & produce rooms and food storage washed down, Dates read. Food put up so it does not fall on you. Good luck Wal-mart.

The companies and gov. want everything to be done overseas so people cannot sue because of inferior food product.

I think they do not mind a few casaulties as long as money is saved.

There is no reason to buy canned fruit and commerical pet foods. We have pet food processors in the USA.

If no one is overseeing production in these countries what is to stop a terrorist from posioning a batch of canned foods?

It must not be as big a threat as Bush says because there are a lot of open doors.

I wonder what would have happened during ww2 if we purchased all of our food and weapons overseas? I guess we would have lost the war.

Buy fresh organic and wholesome. Buy from local farmers.

We just lost a lot of animals to China over dog and cat food. Do you want it in the human food? America needs to go back to making and growing it's own and a lot more. The grocery world is too overpriced. Even Wally World.
