Gore: 'A drive for global domination has put us in greater danger' »

Posted by: TechnologyExpert 2 years, 5 months ago

The pursuit of 'dominance' in foreign policy led the Bush administration to ignore the UN, to do serious damage to our most important alliances, to violate international law, and to cultivate the hatred and contempt of many in the rest of the world.

The seductive appeal of exercising unconstrained unilateral power led this president to interpret his powers under the constitution in a way that brought to life the worst nightmare of the founders. Any policy based on domination of the rest of the world not only creates enemies for the US and recruits for al-Qaida, but also undermines the international cooperation that is essential to defeating terrorists who wish to harm and intimidate America.

The principles proposed by the paper are mostly good.

However coming from Gore we have to take them with a grain of salt.

Gore did not attend an international meeting about the environment arguing concerns with human rights in Colombia.

By the same token he should not deal with most of the international comunity including the US.

Gore is just a posture for his own political gain.

While i agree with everything he said, the very fact that it came from Gore will be enough to make a lot of people ignore these facts.

Best thing Gore can do to air all the points he wants to make is run as a 3rd party candidate.

If you doubt what Gore says here, oh high and mighty conservative, go to the following site and read the neocons' fascist manifesto for world domination:

                Hey King of Truth,

Spoken like a true neocon blame everything on Clinton. Bush has been the president for almost 7 years now, don't blame him blame Clinton Right!!!!!

Say what you want about Gore but if he decides to run he will be elected in a landslide.

If Gore didn't get cheated out of the first election with Bush the world would have been alot different, for the better, although anyone would have been better then Bush.

Sad to say but the US has started the decline that comes with the rise of big business and the war industry. The amount our country spends on war and the military takes way from education, infrastructure, science, health care and all other human endeavors. I am surprised that you never hear the neocons talk about the cost in dollars for this stupid war.

There are so many better things to spend you money on than bombs and rockets. If we had used all that has been lost in Iraq on our country maybe we could have better roads, the beginning of a new power source to run our cars, High speed rail from coast to coast, the list goes on and on but will use the money to kill people. smart Al Gore for Pres.

The neocons have the Michael Coreleone way of thinking remember what he said "Mike you want to wipe out everybody"

"No just my enemies". And that is how the Bush crime family thinks. I am sure they have watched the godfather a tad too many times.

Ron Paul is the only hope out of this whole bunch of coiffed, sound bite, no substance, business as usual clowns that are running... on BOTH sides! Ron Paul is literally the only politician today that sees the big picture of what our country has become, and what it will soon be if we continue down this same misguided path.

Ron Paul is a light in the darkness!

72% of Americans wish they would have voted for Gore in 2000, & he only received 50% plus of the votes. I voted for the wrong guy in 2000 like many other rational Republicans.

Gore is a little wild with his comments & a little too far left of center for me but his supposed presidency would have been far less destructive than what Bush has presented to this country in both foreign & domestic policy.

What people say they will do and what they actually do when they get into office are sometimes 2 different things, so there is no way to GUESS at how more or less destructive his presidency would have been, only conjecture. Personally, I am quite happy he was not in charge after 9/11.

You have to discount this article to a degree because of of the messenger. Al Gore is hardly free of political intent. Some of the stuff mentioned could hardly be blamed on Bush--e.g., not seeing 9/11 coming was a collective institutional failure.

But it was GWB, alone and proudly, who spit in the face of American tradition, American values, and rationality to instigate Iraq. Many people have paid in spades for putting their faith in this guy, who simply isn't worth being faithful to. IMHO, he'd make a fine alternate road commissioner somewhere in west Texas.
