      I heard the prototype that was used was Gores brain a few yrs back...must work for more than a few months:)

        This part sounds really awesome/nuts:

        "Alam has experimented on eight-stone Yorkshire pigs, stopping the heart and electrical activity in the brain for up to two hours before slowly replacing the plasma with warm blood and reviving the animals with no apparent long-term effects."

        Could you imagine the implications this would have for human space travel if this turns out to be safe for humans? I hope it is and they keep working on this project.

          Yeah space travel.....we haven't gone back to the moon in almost 40 yrs, and ya don't even have to be in suspended animation for that....this will come in real handy.
