Posted by: Aidenag 2 years, 6 months ago

Across the world, a dangerous rumor has spread that could have catastrophic implications. According to legend, Iran's president has threatened to destroy Israel, or, to quote the misquote, "Israel must be wiped off the map." Contrary to popular belief, this statement was never made.

    > So this raises the question.. what exactly did he want "wiped from the map"? The answer is: nothing.

Very well. Can you tell us the REAL meaning of Ahmadinehad's words please? Will Israel remain in place after "erasing" the "regime in Jerusalem" from the "map of time"? Will the people of Israel who are 80% Jewish be free to elect the next "regime"? Do you have any doubts that the next "regime" elected by the 80% Jewish people of Israel will be any more to Ahmadinejad's liking?

Finally, would you have a problem with a similar call to erase the regime in Teheran from the map?

What a load of apologist BS. How pathetic are you when you're making up excuses for a lunatic? And maybe the author could explain in his next article, just why Ahmadinejad never denied saying it... and then for a third and final article, the author can tell us all that he never claimed the Holocaust didn't happen.

Believe none of what you hear, and only half of what you see.

Ahmadinejad is under a microscope right now, i don't think he could accomplish going to the bathroom without the world knowing it, if need be.

This is not a factual statement and there have been many online commentors over the months that have given a word for word translation of what was really said. If I can find any of the comments or translations I will post it back here.

Israel has two choices in the near future.

The Saudi Plan "back to 67 borders."

Or the Iranian plan "back to the borders of 140 AD."

It doesn't matter who said what.I am a driller on an oil rig.Two years ago I worked in England. When I gave my notice that I was leaving the company brought in three negros to train as drillers,One worked with me and two on dayshift. One morning at shift change a dayshift roughneck asked me what he was suppost to do that day and I told him to go ask his digger,a Canadian term for a driller, the two dayshift negros heard this and whenI came back to work that night it took 45 minutes to sort it out as everyone was totaly emotional about the N word and the reality was it was never said but try getting that through every ones heads. At the end I was still able to go drinking with those three but the toolpush had a problem with me.The same is here with US/Iran,two diff ways of thinking and with US forcing an issue.Irans buisness is Irans buisness,US should stay out of it but I'm afraid that they won't and I expect something will happen when the Games begin on Wed.

Rule # One in life. When someone says they are going to kill you, take them seriously and do unto them before they do unto you. Sooner or later, Israel will tell the US to take a hike and IAF aircraft, likely unmanned, will take out a huge percentage of Iranian bluster and bull sh1t. Then , it will be up to the Iranian people to run down and hang the religious police and their Mullah instigators for crimes against humanity.

Rule # Two; Never allow religious zealots to control access to guns. It always ends badly

If the Palestinians would stop trying to blow up Israelis and kill people maybe there could be peace. However, it started in the ealy 1900's when Britain started sending Jews back to what was their home before the Roman occupation. It appears that unfortunately Arabs both American and everywhere else will stop at nothing to argue that they don't mean what they say. The Iranian president has said clearly what he wanted to say and anybody gullible enough to believe the point of this article should go back to grade school. He claims that Jews were never persecuted and there is no need to have a Jewish state. Why would Arabs and Persians who have been fighting with Jews for the last 3500 years say anything other than Palestine (named that by the Roman empire) should be occupied by Palestinian Arabs. I think it is sad that the Jews and the Arabs who originate from the same people can't get along. Stop denying you hate us and start finding a way to like us and live with us.

Well, if he really means it I can see his logic... On the other hand, the Persians were never persecuted and therefore, there is no need for a Persian state, correct?

The Jews have been persecuted for thousands of years.

They have been subjected to Pogroms and the holocaust.

                                Yes they have suffered unjustly.

The solution is not however to occupy someone elses land and persecute them.

the answer is to find a place for a Jewish state on land not currently occupied.

Palestine does not qualify since none of the people there persecuted the jews nor did they participate in the holocaust.

And Palestine was occupied for all the time afte the jews were scattered by the Romans.

If israel has a beef with anyone it is the holy Roman empire.

The Current government is in the vaticant.

Thye have plenty land and treasure to compensate the Jews.

Frankly I think purchasing 10,000 square miles of Eastern Oregon would suffice and meet the criteria for a settlemnt.

The Natives are gone and the place is virtually empty.

                                The Jews would be welcomed.

Perhaps the Nazis and catholics cooperated to insure the debt was never collected.

The main thing is these boogeymen are NOT out to get us and they still recognize us as the supreme military power in the world. They are just doing what they can to prevent getting bullied. Te reason they are so anxious to claim nuclear progress is they are under the delusion that it will prevent an attack by the loose-cannon in their midst, as they perceive it did for the North Koreans.

We are our own worst enemy! Why continue to keep Iran as an enemy?

Our objectives in the region, and Iran's, are closer not that far apart. We got rid of the Taliban for them (with their support) and we got rid of Saddam for them. They intercept AlQaeda on their way from Pakistan to Iraq. They offer rebuilding aid to Iraq (which we have begged the Europeans to do) and, until they made the grave mistake of provoking Israel, Hezbollah were on the right track of building an economic infrastructure in South Lebanon. The conflict is over who will have the greater residual influence in the region, and, in the long run, we will be better off if we ally with Iran: it will be a long time before we are trusted or liked in the region. (For one thing, if we ally with Iran, we can get hands-on their nuclear program and market safety technologies to them).

We prefer to ally ourselves with the Saudis!
