That's about as idiotic a statement as I've ever seen - I'll assume it's humor and leave it at that. Nobody is THAT stupid! ( I hope )

A thought on this...when the Arabs needed water to build cities in the desert, they brought in and installed desalinization plants and changed the salt water to fresh and produced a nice place. If we can go to Arabia and build salt water desalinization plants and produce fresh water for them,

why can't we do it here?

I would say about 10 along the California coast would produce more than enough to keep all the rivers full and prevent another occurrance of the 1930's era dust bowls.

If billions are lost because of a drought, why not spend a few million and get fresh water and not have the drought in the first place?

We can also move oil, gas and other things around the country through a network of pipes; why not water?

Are we really as dumb as the Bush hater in the previous note and can't solve a simple problem like this?

It seems that too many people seem to blame everything on politics. I don't see it and wish they would be a little smarter in replying to some of these articles. People who try to predict the weather or any of its patterns are doing nothing but guessing. If there is one thing earth's weather proves it is that it is so intricate and complicated with factors that we have no control over that we are right about as often as we are wrong!

How would some of you even know if the US (America is a continent, not a country), has ever seen megadroughts or not. Just because it wasnt recorded and written in history doesnt mean it didnt happen ever before. DUH!

And for the record, many states across the US are experiencing droughts right now. Global warming may be a contributor, but it's not the only factor. The earth in general always goes through changes in climate, and it replenishes itself. This is just the earth's cycle. This too shall pass.
