Last week, British authorities confirmed that four people tested positive for H7N2, a mild strain of bird flu. The four were tested in connection with a small farm in Wales where chickens died recently. Health officials were checking 142 other people for infection, including 11 reporting symptoms of flu or conjunctivitis.

More test results are pending, and officials said the number of confirmed human cases could increase. Those who are thought to have had contact with H7N2 are being offered antivirals by health authorities.
