Still, prices have spiked 50 percent since late January and are expected to climb moreâ;;perhaps substantially if there's an active hurricane season, as predicted. Prices have already exceeded forecasts for the usual hikes that precede summer's driving seasonâ;;and are higher than last year, though the cost of crude oil, about $65 a barrel, is lower.

      Good submission STONERS.

A friend and I were talking about gas prices and Americans driving habits. I don't think there will be true outcry until gas is $5.00 a gallon or more.

Sure right now the poor and lower middle class are struggling but the upper middle class ($100,000 a year or more) haven't had to change their habits because they can afford not to. Right now the decision to change is still in their hands. They're not being forced to make drastic changes or change habits like some of us are having to do.

blah blah blah.... there will *always* be a reason that freaks someone enough to qualify as reason enough to increase gas prices. And even if there were not a solid reason, a made up one can work wonders as well. What choice do we have.... : (

New Jersey is set to up the gas tax but for how much is not known yet. I suppose we will have to learn to drive small cars again instead of the SUV's that are driven now. You think that will happen??? I bet not.

I live in Virginia and the lowest I have found was 2.83 per gallon while other places in the same county are 3.20. Someone needs to do something. With gas prices going up, so is everything else, except our salaries, of course.

George Bush is a terrible failure as a president of this country..pres roosevelt emmediately froze all prices when WW2 started- to stop war prfiteering..Mr. Bush is profitting from this war, as is cheny..they do not want to end it, for losing thier profits..These two men should immediately be impeached...Then Bush sould be tried for treason for making secret deals with the Saudis, not in this countrys best interest..cheny for making secret deals with the oil companys, --so now we have the highest oil prices ever..We must --NEVER RE ELECT ANY POLITICIAN--EVER...WE MUST ALSO DEPORT EVERY ILLEGAL ALIEN FROM THIS COUNTRY--AND SEND THE BILL FOR IT TO THE COMPANYS WHO USED THEM AS SCAB LABOR..Then put army snipers on the border from texas to calif, and kill any one who enters our country illegally...That way we can kill all terrorists who try to come and kill us..along with the drug runners too.. A win win situation.
