May 31, 2007, 12:09 p.m.Actually, I think pretty highly of Mr. Zoellick. He should have been Mr. Bush's choice to lead the World Bank two years ago, rather than Mr. Wolfowitz. Instead, they put ideology and loyalty ahead of training and competence.
It would have saved everyone quite a bit of stress, let alone more egg on the face of the Administration.

May 31, 2007, 2:04 p.m.I share the concerns that Zoellick has neoconservative roots but dies his hair well enough to disguise them. But given Bush's other recent nominations, he is a better selection than I would have expected.

May 31, 2007, 3:27 p.m.I smell something rotten here. Why is Goldman-Sachs the recruiting office for the administration? That he worked with the current Secretary of Snake is also suspicious. He may be a good candidate but I shall reserve my judgement. Too often this administration has run one past the populace for their own ends. It will take a lot for me to ever trust anything they do.
