High gas prices make E-85 a popular alternative »

Greenville- Now that gas prices are hovering at around $3.50 a gallon, more drivers are choosing to run their vehicles on the E-85 ethanol-gasoline blend.

      Looking up what E-85 was, I found this which explains it. I was surprised to find out that its been around in one form or another since the beginning of cars.

        Corn is being planted in fields where hay, beans & peas were harvested last year. Dairymen, ranchers & horse owners will pay more as demand for ethanol rises

        The livestock industry will be hurt by a hay shortage - hay already in short supply for 2 years & alfalfa can cost up to $170/ton. The consumer is going to have to pay for it one way or another.
