The U.S. handling (of this case) is neither scientific nor responsible," China's General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement posted on its Web site over the weekend.

China sentences former top drug regulator to death, installs food recall system
China's former top drug regulator was sentenced to death Tuesday in an unusually harsh punishment for taking bribes to approve substandard medicines, including an antibiotic blamed for at least 10 deaths.
Seeking to address broadening concerns over food, the government also announced plans for its first recall system for unsafe products
The developments are among the most dramatic steps Beijing has taken to address domestic and international alarm over shoddy and unsafe Chinese goods รข;; from pet food ingredients and toothpaste mixed with induso trial chemicals to tainted antibiotics

June 4, 2007, 1:10 a.m.Hey the Commies are just trying to make a buck. just wait till they start processing American grown chickens,you ain't seen nothin yet and of course our gov won't force any markings on packages so we can be forewarned.Our food supply is at risk not from terrorists but from greedy industries using cheap labor here and overseas.
