June 3, 2007, 1:44 p.m.Cologne needs to integrate their Muslim community with the rest of the city. If other religions have their formal places of worship, why shouldn't Muslims? Besides, they are putting up their own money to build it! What harm can come from building a mosque if they want one?

June 3, 2007, 2:14 p.m.Because of these 2 reasons..I'm basically against it.
"These people only speak Turkish," he said. "They see no need to learn German. We think that's the wrong way, and because of this we are critical of the project."
They do not want to integrate into German society.
And the Jewish people are concerned about radical Islam out to destroy Israel.
Sorry, you want to become a citizen of another country, you integrate, you don't go there and expect special rights...especially it's taxing on schools. The artical says there are plenty of mosques there now. I'm not saying give up your own culture, but certainly don't expect another country to change for you.

June 3, 2007, 3:10 p.m."... some 45 mosques in Cologne already -- based mainly in abandoned factories, warehouses and shops."
"... people saying their prayers in abandoned factories."
Talk about "failed integration"!
Build the mosque. I don't think people do not want to integrate, they just want something they can be proud of?
