Regarding President Bush and his claim that we have had no terror attacks on the homefront:

Hypothetically: I live in Northwest Pennsylvania. I keep a wolf in my front yard to ward off crocodiles. I have never had a crocodile cross my front yard. Is my wolf working? No.

The problem here is that we have not had credible threats in part not because of the war on terror, but because we have draconian laws in place which have allowed the Justice Dept. and Homeland Security Dept. to clamp down on the liberties of this nation. Consider the USA PATRIOT Act. Consider that instead of attacking the US directly, our allies have been attacked. Consider that our embassies have been attacked.

President Bush has merely alienated us from our allies.

Refreshing that they all agreed that gays should be given the right to serve in the military. I doubt the Republicons would even answer the question, don't ask, don't tell.

I like what Bill Richardson said about education. I believe the only way this country can rebuild its position in the world is through education policies that are beneficial not punitive. Teachers should be paid a fair wage and schools that need assistance should be granted it.

politicians are all liars and fools, puppets of PACs and Corporations...dont vote for anyone who has held office before...

if you think of yourself as a liberal vote for the Green party, they hold the ideals you believe in

if you think of yourself as a conservative vote for the Libertarian party they hold the views you believe in (caveat: Ron Paul is really a Libertarian)

put an end to the plutocracy of the two party system that keeps giving us the same results we are ALL unhappy with.

Bill Richardson seemed left out of discussion. I noted that he raised his hand to speak on a subject, but Wolf was asking the senators. Democrats need to remember that the last democratic president was a former governor. Bill Richardson has made a difference in New Mexico and we need to hear his ideas. Of course, CNN has its own agenda.

Everyone has their own opinion, and there are those who have their motives for what they say. I have only my opinion. In the past 6 years this country has been beaten down to a pulp, with an image of mud and it isn't Bush's fault! Yes Bush has a heavy hand like Dirty Harry, (Go ahead make my day) but the damage has been done by the (angry, I'm going to get even, I'm going to discredit Bush agenda,I'm going to destroy the republican party, I'm going to do what ever it takes ,what ever it does to this country attitude) Democratic party.

Why do I feel that way?? Not because I'm a republican, I'm not! next comment continued

I just see the big picture. Bush was really shaken up after 911 , like all american's should have been, (except the majority of american's are still shell shocked and scared to their bones that this could get worse with fighting in the streets ,so we average americans would rather shut down and wait for the democrates to find the one thing that they could pander to us with, the old peace, get out of vietnam chant. They filled the airwaves with this over and over and convinced the americans and then the world that we were attacked in NY and the administration is the bad guy.

Iraq attacked Quait, had kurds gased, it was in the heart of the muslim zone, where else would you fight terror but in the terrorist backyard.??? I know but the Iraq's are not terrorist!!! True itis a neutral backyard, but more in their backyard then ours. Would you rather it be in Las vegas , Detroit, how about New Orleans???

Now the terrorist have the democrates helping their cause by having us showing a scared retreat, and saying that we americans were not suppose to be in Iraq and our men are in a losing war and bring them home, wa wa wa. How does that make the troops feel , maybe just like the vietnam vets felt. Please , the terrorist oganization is out to take over the world , ( Sudan, Darfur is next ) and do you think if we demoralize american troops anymore, who will fight them off if they take over Africa ???

Is it that as long as they don't come to the USA , we don't care what they do?? Kind of what american's wanted to think when Hitler was cooking the Jews in gas chambers!! It took too long for USA to get over there to liberate the Jews, mere millions lost, women, childern.

The debates will continue between the democrates who want the whitehouse so bad that they could taste the blood they are trying to squeeze out of Bush's cabinet, and the republican's who will be acting like the loyal followers of Jesus, but denying Bush 3 times before the ****** crows, looking for a bag of silver to turn Bush out, but beware american's , for if we do not get someone strong into office, who will be able to keep someone like Iran from holding all the free world hostage with atom bombs, and desires to wipe Israel off the face of the map, quote ,un quote.

My biggest issue on looking at all of them is Iran. I felt their answers on how to deal with Iran was extremely weak. I understand we must use diplomatic negotiations with other country's, but I think Iran is the type of country, and government, that will say one thing and do another.

They have already shown their inability to listen to the outside world by openly continuing their nuclear programs. They have demonstrated their future "plans" for their neighbors, specifically Israel. Iran has sent weapons and training to insurgents in Iraq to kill our troops. And, quite possibly, they are a major instigator for the sectarian violence in Iraq.

How these candidates come to the conclusion of just sitting down and talking to them and thinking everything will be okay or that they will listen is ridiculous. They know how to play the United States.

They are probably praying for one of these guys to get elected here.

I find Pelosi ,visiting these Arab countries, and defying the whitehouses warnings is similar to Jane Fonda going over to Vietnam voicing Peace, while sitting on an enemy machine gun.

Politicians all have that book with 1001 promises you can give voters that will convince them that you will save them, that they need you, and no one else can etc ,etc

They all have gimmicks, some want to send 11 million mexicans back to Mexico, That's larger than NY city's entire population , right , and who is going to do all the work (grunt jobs) they now hold, right our kids who all want college grad top paying jobs. Some times I think the people following the fluter down to the river are smoking something stronger than the fluter who is trying to get elected.

America has thousands of atomic warheads, the Iranian leadership may not be brilliant but even if they are able to build and deliver 1 nuclear device in say 5 years, they would not be stupid enough to try to hit us with it. Iran to us is like an wasp annoying a buffalo & you are seeing dragons appearing in the fields.

I liked Obama's comeback to John Edward's attack. Edwards chided Hillary and Barak for voting no on war funding but not issuing a big policy speech before the vote. Edwards charged that a person wanting to occupy the oval office should lead, not just cast the right vote.

Barak fired back that since Edwards had voted for the original war authorization, he was about 4 1/2 year late in his "leadership".

I also liked how Barak took charge after Kucinich said he would not kill Bin Laden if given the chance. Obama left no doubt that he would exercise all options needed to defend this nation against those who have declared open warfare on it.

Although I am not a democrat, If I did jump the asile Joe Biden would be my choice. All of the other candidates were in favor of "negotiating"with Iran over nuclear arsenals. You don't try to talk to a country and president who has no intentions of doing so. The Bush administration IS doing the right thing about the Iranians. While Hillary is talking,we have terriorist seeking our lives.

Holding back Olympic participation in 2008 to protest Chinese human rights policy. A nation that hold about $1 trillion in our Federal Notes, and this guy Richard's want to make a statement with the Olympics when those same 4 weeks Wal-Mart will sell $30 million in TV sets made in China. The whole problem is the Bush administration now uses fake plastic shields they put in place so as not to talk to the bad guys. Silence no discussion that is the first line of defense against Iran's Islamic guards from the Bush. Iran's Islamic guards have their own foreign policy we don't admit to or do they we don't know. Ask Rice again.
