Russia will once again aim missiles at targets in Europe if U.S. plans to build a missile shield near Russia's borders advance, President Vladimir Putin was quoted as saying on Sunday. Putin acknowledged Russia's response risked restarting an arms race but he said Moscow would not be responsible for the consequences because the U.S. had started it.

Putin made the tough statement days before a Group of Eight summit in Germany on June 6 where, among other world leaders, he will come face to face with U.S. President George W. Bush.

Am I the only one who finds it rather ironic that Putin is constantly accusing the U.S. of trying to restart the cold war while he backs Iran's nuclear program, tests ICBM's (which no doubt will be openly sold to Iran), and makes statements like this?
I'd almost think he was just another member of the Christian Right, herding mankind toward The Rapture like Bush.

"A member of the Christian Right, herding mankind toward The Rapture like Bush", OR, a Shiite Fundamentalist, like the new Hitler of Iran who believes HIS Messiah (the 12th Imam, who disappeared down a well in young boy form centuries ago) can't come back with Islamic Jesus and kick Christian and Jewish butt until he (the current ruler of Iran) causes a nuclear holocaust with Israel and the West? Oh, and SAYing he was willing to destroy MOST of Iran to ACCOMPLISH such a feat!
