Posted by: JamesMarcus 2 years, 6 months ago

Back in March, Sir Paul McCartney announced that he was ending his 43-year-association with EMI and recording his next CD for the nascent Starbucks label. At the time his decision raised a few eyebrows. Yet it was hard to begrudge the former Beatle a fresh start, especially after the public meltdown of his marriage.

I haven't heard his latest album but I hear it didn't go too well, maybe he needs a respite, take some time, and effort to pick some bandmates with the right concoction, and the mojo to make his music click the right notes, or better yet, get his old bandmembers "Wings" Denny Laine, etc. for instance, and give 'er the old college try again.

Yes Bronx, it would be nice if he got back with Wings. I liked his stuff better when he was with Wings.

Why don't he and the Stones and all of the other dinosaur acts out there just retire? Enjoy life. Enjoy your billions. The fans that have to see you one more time? Tough. Get a life. What could possibly drive someone who could have anything they desire at the snap of a finger? Except of course true love. He must hate to hear "Can't Buy Me Love" about now.

I think in the end most musical historians are going to side more with Yoko's view of Paul's abilities. The Beatles were a sum of their parts. Once they split they each had to stand on their own. Wings had some decent moments but also some dismal ones. And Paul's solo career has been generally atrocious.

I have heard and bought his new CD and I have been a fan of Paul's since he was with the Beatles. I think his music is some of the best out there. It sounds like the rest of you are trying to compare this work with his earlier work instead of listening to it and appreciate his musical talent. He was the most talented Beatle, that is why he has come this far in his career. Take a look around, where are the other male vocalists that were around when Paul first started his career? I think that him still touring with Concerts says it all.

In my opinion, Paul is the most talented Beatle after John Lennon.

I thought Chaos and Creation in the Back Yard was his best in a long time. I like every song on that cd.

He still misses working with the great John Lennon, And he is now working on one of John's old demos. He will be singing with John once again.

rossiv and BronxBomber, get real John Lennon didn't have 1/2 the talent Paul McCartney does. When John was alive he didn't tour as much and when the Beatles were together he didn't have the solos that Paul had. So, why don't the two of you just, "Let It Be"?
